Embassy Row: Gay diplomat an ‘insult’
Church leaders in culturally conservative Dominican Republic are outraged that President Obama nominated an openly homosexual activist to serve as ambassador to the Caribbean nation.
Cardinal Nicolas de Jesus Lopez, the Roman Catholic archbishop of the Dominican capital of Santo Domingo, Bishop Pablo Cedano and the Rev. Cristobal Cardozo, leader of the Dominican Evangelical Fraternity, are urging President Danilo Medino to reject the nominee, Chicago lawyer James Brewster.
“It’s an insult to good Dominican customs,” Father Cardozo said last week.
Bishop Cedano denounced the nomination for showing “a lack of respect,” and added cryptically: “If he arrives, he’ll suffer and will be forced to leave.”
Archbishop Lopez sounded exasperated. “You can expect anything from the U.S.,” he told reporters in Santo Domingo.
Mr. Brewster, co-chairman for gay issues at the Democratic National Committee and a major fundraiser for Mr. Obama, is one of five homosexuals Mr. Obama nominated to serve as ambassadors in June, designated as “Gay Pride Month.”

Bathhouse Barry is flaming himself and loves rubbing American society’s nose in all the sex perversion. Christopher Stephens, the ambassador murdered in Libya, also was homosexual. His two SCOTUS appointments reasonably are thought to be lesbians.
Wonder if he intends to send a homosexual ambassador to Russia or if he will scold Putin on homosexual rights, the way he lectures African leaders.

Remember that the first foreign policy move by this President was to subvert the Honduran Constitution (and express popular will) in cahoots with Chavez.
He hates the Church. He loathes Protestants, Catholics, and Orthodox alike. Yet, I know some left-wing Christians who applaud hi every move - including his efforts to reshape the Church in his image.
Excellent opportunity for Senate Republicans. Put a hold on the nomination, filibuster if necessary. Gain friends in the Dominican Republic and among the wider Hispanic community.
Someone should start a campaign for an open letter of apology to the Dominicans for the crudeness and insulting behavior of our President.
No one has apparently ever explained to him and his followers (an over loud minority) how a pendulum works. The further you push it out in one direction the harder it comes back. That day is coming and they will not enjoy it.
