I would argue that Obama saw the revolution in the faces of tens of thousands on the Mall one cold snowy day. He illegally deployed the IRS to destroy the organizations.
He thwarted the revolution and there is none really on the horizon. The zeal, the fire in the belly is spent.
By and large, conservatives are apathetic
Nope, wrong again, the tea party movement is resurging, on the local, county, and state levels. They are a warm-up.
Look at what is going on now in Egypt to be a preview to what could very well take place in the fall.
Speaking for yourself? While many, by and large, are eager to set things right, how we resolve it is in question. Until we have a defined goal, most do not know what to do or even how to do it. The past methods for resolving discontent (elections) have been thwarted, so we need to find another way to be heard. I wish I knew what to do, cuz I’d be there.
“By and large, conservatives are apathetic”
Well, they better wake up then. Most conservatives are shell shocked at this point and don’t grasp the full extent of what’s happened given how quickly events have transpired. The New Left’s rapid takeover of media, education and culture that began in the 1960’s (or earlier) is basically complete. Look at a small sampling of their most consequential triumphs in the last 40 years alone:
* abortion on demand;
* the related, gradual disintegration of marriage and family life;
* 48 million on food stamps, not to mention tens of millions more on other forms of assistance;
* a tidal wave of immigration and related failure to assimilate the arrivals, creating a parallel nation with its own distinct language and culture;
* a suffocating political correctness which stifles freedom of thought, religion and expression; and
* a mammoth bureacracy to enforce all of the above.
If people are still apathetic, that’s their fault. It’s not too late to right the ship, but it’s getting late.
Baaa, Baaaa, Baaaa,Baaaa. The sheeple have spoken by their silence. There will be no resistance here, as it should have happened already in a Nation of people who value their Freedom.
Nope. Some of us have simply decided to shrug, or to borrow a phrase from Tom Baugh, we've chosen to starve the monkeys.
Speak for yourself, sir.
It's possible there will be a rebound, possible the fire will return, possible the realization of the illegal take out of the TEA party by the administration will rally us. I doubt the idea of a revolution happening soon, conservatives are too fragmented to make that work. We will need some leaders to stand forth to rally around, we will need to rally ourselves, it's just hard to know how to do so.
The ONE THING we must do right now is rally the House to kill the immigration bill. If we do not do that, conservatives will truly become a minority in perpetuity, and the revolution from the other side will be cemented forever.
