Unconfirmed thus far, but the armys deadline for him to leave office had recently passed. Lets get a thread up, as things are moving quickly. Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi is reportedly under house arrest after the military ultimatum expired Wednesday, reports Al Hayat TV. Morsis spokesman denied the report, although word of the house arrest provoked cheers in Tahrir Square
Earlier Wednesday, Egyptian leaders met with the army chief. This meeting also signaled the military was taking concrete moves toward implementing its plan to replace President Mohammed Morsi, Egypts first freely elected leader who came to office a year ago.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Every single thing Obama touches, turns to shit.
LOL - The Reverse Midas.
think Obama will demand jihadists be put back in?
This is great news if true. Glad to see the Egyptian Army is doing what they should be doing. Hopefully they can restore the rule of law. I hope other militaries pay attention to how this can be done.
Where’s the “Well, bye” guy?
He started his presidency with he speech at the Cairo mosque..
GOOD!
Like ours?
:)
PING
Morsi under house arrest, military coup underway in Egypt? Obama’s Morsi?
But, but....That’s the guy we put in power....must be a mistake.
Now there’s an Arab Spring we should emulate.
John Fn Kerry should be sent to Tahir square today to appologize for supporting the muslim brotherhood. Let him know what Chris Stevens felt.
Great line!
Good riddance.
As long as he’s not replaced with something worse.
This is a Bloodless Revolution, which the majority of the people are supporting the military against a tyrannical President from a radical party who resorted to autocratic rule.
The military should terminate Morsi with extreme prejudice - just to avoid any unpleasant misunderstandings in the future.
This may explain the loud cheers of joy at Tahrir Square... http://www.cafenetamerica.com/#videos
Wishing peace for the true Egyptians. They have been infiltrated with the hyenas of humanity, the Islamic Arabs.
Glad the MB are OUT.
Did the founders of our country ever envision that one party, duly elected by the American people, who control all levers of legal power then turn out to be traitors, and the American people are powerless until the next election, which happens to be years away,to effect change?
I guess what I am asking is what do you do when the entire system is corrupt?
The Army will jail a bunch of MB’s and then Kerry and Obama will attack them for violating their civil rights. Putting people in jail who seek power to take away civil rights..are exactly the people who deserve to be in prison.
Big Jake, right?
The MB had been salivating for power for many decades and like the dog that finally catches the car......oops, now what? Good riddance to bad rubbish.
2nd amendment comes to mind
“John Fn Kerry should be sent to Tahir square today to appologize for supporting the muslim brotherhood. Let him know what Chris Stevens felt.”
Yes he should but without vasoline!
do you have any ammo? The government have taken care of that as well
Bingo
lost it in boating accident
Good luck then
I think this is a great step forward for freedom. Obama has been propping up the Muslim Brotherhood since forever, and now their premier regime is being toppled. I read on Twitter that a joke making its way through Egypt is that Morsi did what Nassar, Sadat and Mubarak were unable to do, and that is to eliminate the Muslim Brotherhood as a political force. Of course that is way overstated, but I think it is safe to say that the Egyptian people would not vote them in at this point.
If the Morsi/Muslim Brotherhood regime is defeated, that may put pressure on Turkey, and people in other Arab countries that have become increasingly Sharia-compliant may take a step back from that.
I am well aware that the protesters may contain only a small number of “Jeffersonian Democrats”, and it may be that the new regime will be anti-Israel and support other interests that are averse to freedom. But from a perspective that only measures the global power of Muslim fanatics, I think that an overthrow of Mursi and his Muslim Brotherhood colleagues would be a great thing.
True Karma would be for obama to see his M1 Abrams he just sent over to Egypts morsi buddy surrounding the palace with cannons facing the palace.
I hope the military learned something from watching the miltary “coup” against Chavez.
They are disobeying his direct orders and kicking out his hand picked man.
Think Bill Ayers and Cathy Dorhn should hurry over there to complain.
Is Obama sending troops to fight for the muslim brotherhood/AQ?
I had never heard of Naguib, so I looked him up on Wikipedia:
In late 1954, however, Nasser accused Naguib of supporting the recently outlawed Muslim Brotherhood and of harbouring dictatorial ambitions. A brief power struggle broke out between Naguib and Nasser for control of the military and of Egypt. Nasser ultimately won the struggle and managed to force Naguib to resign from the presidency of Egypt in November 1954.
Egypt has been struggling to keep the Muslim Brotherhood out of power since 1954. They lost the struggle when Obama helped oust Mubarek. Now the Egyptian people are once again attempting to keep the MB out of power.
It is telling that the US is on the wrong side of the Secular-Islamist struggle in Egypt.
...This is a Bloodless Revolution, which the majority of the people are supporting the military against a tyrannical President from a radical party who resorted to autocratic rule....
America and Obama please take note.
I can’t help but envy the Egyptians.
Poor Obama must have a heavy heart over his brothers loss.
Watch Obama try to take credit for this too in the “I supported Islamists to help moderates obtain power” cognitive dissonance.
Midas spelled backwards is Sadim - coincidence? I think not.
Well, that’s what they get for electing a second-rate British pop ‘artist’ as their president...
