Republicans from Texas Senator Ted Cruz to House Foreign Affairs Chairman Ed Royce have pounced on statements like these, increasingly seeing Patterson as the key implementer for a policy that at least offers tacit support to the Muslim Brotherhood..............She's just doing what Obama dictated.

It didn't help Patterson's standing when she met with senior Brotherhood officials, the Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie and his deputy Khairat Al-Shater. For some liberal Egyptians, this was seens as nothing less than conspiring with the enemy. Now Egyptian protesters are carrying signs with the ambassador's face crossed out..........She better get the hell out of Egypt soon.

With respect, that's her job. An ambassador is there to represent the policies of the government which sent him.

If Ms. Patterson is representing bad policies, that problem points right back to the head of government who sent her: Barack Hussein Soetoro 0dinga Whatever 0bama.

"Some say that street action will produce better results than elections," Patterson said. "To be honest, my government and I are deeply skeptical."

They weren't a bit skeptical during the chaos of the "Arab Spring." These people are unbelievable.

Patterson’s predicament is emblematic of American policy in the Mideast for the past sixty years. For the most part it is confusing, has alienated the majority of the regions population and has not benefited the United States. The reality is that oil will find its way to American shores as long as we have the hard currency to pay. The sellers must market their oil or they will wither and die. There will never again be a successful OPEC boycott.

She isn’t safe right now and should get out. Prayerfully she has the wisdom not to wait for an Obama transport or count on his protection. Of course they may be suggesting she stand down and wait till things cool off. Is Obama willing to sacrifice another ambassador in an attempt to save face for the MB?

Look, Patterson likely got the ambassador job simply because she was good at bundling campaign cash for Obama. In other words, probably no real world experience that would otherwise qualify her for being America's representative to an important ally. Therefore, Patterson, with precious little experience, was acting in the direct interest of Obama.

Heck, Obama himself basically dislodged Mubarak. Obama then handed his buddy Morsi billions in US taxpayer aid.

This mess is solely the result of the Kenyan Marxist.

Libya, Syria, Egypt, the US economy, ObamaCare. How much more evidence is required to see that Obama is an international DISASTER.

"Some say that street action will produce better results than elections . . ."

If you are talking about fair and honest elections, I would tend to agree with Anne Patterson and her skepticism.

But if you are talking about the sham elections which have become the rule at the national and many state levels with voter rolls full of the dead, disqualified, illegal aliens, zombie and multiple voters . . . then the people of Egypt have ever right to mistrust the process. And so do we.

You are absolutely correct is identifying Patterson as only the implementer of admin policies. But when Morsi and the MB go south and there’s chaos in Egypt or there’s a new non jihadi govt, you can bet the underside of Obama’s bus will have a new admit.

Isn't the whole point of the multi-culti thing to respect the customs and culture of others? Then why do we continue to poke other countries in their cultural eye by ignoring their mores? Why do we continue to send women to countries that have no respect for women, gays to countries where that practice is taboo? Remember how well April Glaspie worked out representing our interests with Saddam?

I have worked with her on several occasions, She is a first rate career diplomat who is honorable and dedicated. She is taking the arrows for the WH.

So, clearly she is personna non-gratta in Egypt, especially with any new government, and especially-Especially with the people of Egypt.

Now, the question becomes what letter for her replacement will the regime pick from their LBGT-ABC-M-O-U-S-E alphabet?

You couldn't be more wrong. Anne is a first rate career diplomat who has served in some of the toughest and most dangerous places in the world. I have worked with her and have the highest respect for her.

Patterson entered the Foreign Service in 1973.

She served as a US State Department Economic Officer and Counselor to Saudi Arabia from 1984 to 1988 and then as a Political Counselor at the United States Mission to the United Nations in Geneva from 1988 to 1991.

Patterson served as State Department Director for the Andean Countries from 1991 to 1993. She served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Inter-American Affairs from 1993 to 1996.

Patterson served as United States Ambassador to El Salvador from 1997 to 2000, and then as United States Ambassador to Colombia from 2000 to 2003. While ambassador to Colombia, Patterson and U.S. Senator Paul Wellstone were the alleged targets of a failed bomb plot while on an official visit to the Colombian town of Barrancabermeja. From 2003 to 2004 Patterson served as Deputy Inspector General of the US State Department.

In August 2004, Patterson was appointed Deputy U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations. Patterson became acting Permanent Representative to the United Nations after John Danforth resigned, effective January 20, 2005. An extended delay in the confirmation of John R. Bolton by the Senate (ending when Bolton assumed the position on August 1, 2005, after a recess appointment) caused Patterson to served as interim permanent representative longer than expected.

Patterson became Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs on November 28, 2005, serving until May 2007. President George W. Bush appointed Patterson as the United States Ambassador to Pakistan after Ryan Crocker left that post to become Ambassador to Iraq. She served in Pakistan between July 2007 and October 2010.

In May 2011 U.S. President Obama nominated Patterson to be the U.S. Ambassador to Egypt. On June 30, 2011, the United States Senate confirmed Patterson by unanimous consent to be the United States Ambassador to Egypt.

No doubt, it would be best to replace her at this point from both the standpoint of acceptability to the new regime and for her personal safety. She was the messenger and the message no longer resonates. The originator of the message is Obama and his advisers. If we really want change, they are the ones who need to be replaced.
