Venezuela's Maduro offers asylum to Snowden
Reuters ^ | 5 Jul 2013

Posted on 07/05/2013 6:18:38 PM PDT by mandaladon

(Reuters) - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on Friday he had decided to offer asylum to former U.S. intelligence contractor Edward Snowden, who has petitioned several countries to avoid capture by Washington.

"In the name of America's dignity ... I have decided to offer humanitarian asylum to Edward Snowden," Maduro told a televised military parade marking Venezuela's independence day.

The 30-year-old former National Security Agency contractor is believed to be holed up in the transit area of Moscow's Sheremetyevo international airport.

WikiLeaks said on Friday that Snowden had applied to six more nations for asylum, bringing to about 20 the number of countries he has asked for protection from U.S. espionage charges.

Communists protect their own.

While I despise the evil scum bags for spying on innocent Americans, I did not immediately call Snowden a hero. I wanted to wait and get more information. The more totalitarian/communist countries that offer him asylum, the more I am thinking, this guy is no hero. I work with 2 nurses, both born and raised in China, and staunchly anti communist, who think he is a chump, because he went to the commies in China first.

But the women are beautiful. They always end up in the top 5 of world beauty contests.

LOL. It’s almost funny how so many of Comrade Snowden’s generation Xbox peers are evidently completely unaware of the lines for such common commodities that were typically endured in the “former” Soviet Union’s worker’s paradise... which of course NEVER spied on its own McPeople.

Almost.

Idiot, Useful; 1 generation each.

- Edward Snowden went where Obama could not easily kill him

- I see lots of criticism for where Snowden went - but I see nobody in the USA with the big brass ones to expose Barack "Maybe A Little Blow" Hussein Obama Junior

- If not Edward Snowden..... Who?

That so many countries refused is evidence that Obamanoids are applying pressure behind the scenes, making credible threats, which is their SOP (vide John Roberts & Obamacare), all that while some “patriots” refer to Snowden who’s done us all a big favor as “Comrade”.

France and Portugal denied a sovereign head of state access to their airspace because they believed he might be harboring Snowden.

That isn't "laughing at us" - that is a serious intervention on our behalf.

Snowden cheerleaders are becoming increasingly detached from reality.

BTW, very little discussion today about the attorney Snowden's father hired telling the WSJ that a "Wikileaks Praetorian Guard" is preventing access to Snowden.

His father has retained US counsel specializing in federal criminal law to advise his son, but every time they try to make contact Assange or a member of his cult says that Snowden is not available.

The domestic surveillance (which we already knew about - Carnivore, Echelon, the Associated Press spying scandal, etc. - really people) is the shiny object which is distracting you from the real event.

Passing secrets to Red China is the real event.

The left has been complaining about the surveillance authorizations under the PATRIOT Act since it was drafted. This also is not new.

Difficult call. I assume that Snowden would be coming to Venezuela with his laptop collection.

China has certainly made copies, Russia certainly has done the same.

Venezuela is effectively offering to buy the information, which comes with an inconvenient Snowden attached to it.

Snowden and Bwadley Manning are both Quisling reflections of the inbred, self-worshiping, TSSCI-LIFER technocracy that failed to vet them during their manufacturing process.

What do you think is sitting in the Oval Office? A muzzie loving Commie.

They need to give Snowden a medal. I for one am glad to know the extent of the police state. Maybe there is still time to do something about it.

Its time for everyone to wake up and get a clue. The United States is now the tyrant. We live in a frightening and horrific situation where all 3 branches of govt are conspiring together to erect a totalitarian dictatorship. So far its coming along nicely.

Quit wasting your ire on Snowden and aim it at the real criminals. The govt of the USA.

Do you have evidence Snowden sold military secrets to China or is that your opinion?

Btw, Snowden is the “shiny object”. The real traitors are those in this Regime who approved the unConstitutional re-direct of the Patriot Act and spied on Americans not engaging terrorists overseas.
