Mr. Cruz does not have the right of free speech as validated by the First Amendment?
He did not say that he fled the castro tyranny. Perhaps you should take the wax out of your ears.
Lesson for the literal-minded: I was referring to not having the m o r a l right, not the legal right. That’s what the phrase “it may be true, but that person doesn’t have the right to say it” means.
And yes, Cruz and his father tried to pass Cruz padre off as a member of el exilio, just as Rubio did with his parents. Both claims were exposed as untrue.
I saw the news footage of the Cruz victory speech, where he presented his father as having been a political prisoner in Cuba. The set-up and context were designed to identify the father as a victim of Castro - which he was not. In fact, quite the contrary.
I did. Did you?
This is my area of specialty.
No, you didn’t read what I wrote.
Because of his own history, he does not have the moral authority to talk about Castro.
Thank you!
No, because he is trying to pass himself off as a Cuban refugee, which he is not. Quite the opposite.
Because of his own history, he does not have the moral authority to talk about Castro.
That is your opinion.
He speaks the truth.
It is not true. There was no “Cuban revolution” at the time that Cruz’s father came here.
And the people who left Cuba as a result of the Cuban revolution, which occurred on New Year’Eve, 1958, going into 1959, came here as refugees, not immigrants.
I have not seen a speech where he claims to have been a prisoner of castro.
He does not have the moral authority to speak about castro? Did he or did he not work for the revolution with castro against Batista giving him first hand knowledge about the man?
I honestly cannot figure out what your point is.
The man is speaking the truth. I can’t understand why you have a problem with him speaking the truth.
Every moral person has the "moral authority" to speak out against evil, in fact we have the duty to do so.
BTW "moral authority" is a leftist construct that has no meaning in the real world.
You're not very special!
Papa Cruz came to Texas in 1957 to enter UT and has never claimed otherwise.
Not true. He tried to present himself as a “ former political prisoner” who was tortured in Cuba, without saying that he left before Castro. I saw the news broadcast.
When did you first learn of either Cruz?
