Time for public to stop making Trayvon Martin tragedy worse
The Myrtle Beach Sun News ^ | July 6, 2013 | Issac J. Bailey

Posted on 07/06/2013 5:22:05 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

George Zimmerman might be on the verge of becoming the next O.J. Simpson.

He’s the defendant in the high profile case out of Sanford, Fla., that has launched a million discussions and a thousand protests across the country, including Myrtle Beach, Columbia and throughout the Carolinas.

A jury of six women will decide if the prosecution has presented enough evidence to rebut Zimmerman’s claim of self defense. He shot unarmed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin during a confrontation that began after Zimmerman believed, for reasons unexplained, Martin was suspicious for walking home from the store.

No matter what the jury decides, the pro- and anti-Zimmerman camps likely won’t change their minds -- just like the Simpson verdict.

Zimmerman was unknown until that fateful night in which he shot Martin, while Simpson had a Hall of Fame pro football career and spots in well-received commercials and slapstick comedies.

Zimmerman seemed to be a wanna-be police officer, Simpson a high-profile husband with domestic violence accusations in his past.

Zimmerman is a middle-class white Hispanic, Simpson a rich black guy.

Those are the superficial differences. In each case, the people who were killed have largely become afterthoughts.

The people who cheered wildly with glee when Simpson was found not guilty all but danced on the graves of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman.

Their focus was on Simpson, not his wife and the man brutally murdered beside her, not on the evidence that strongly suggested Simpson’s guilt, despite the defense’s expert cross examinations that raised questions in the minds of jurors -- the only minds that legally mattered.

Today, supporters of Zimmerman -- people who had never heard of him -- don’t much care that an unarmed 17-year-old walking home from the store ended up dead on the street......

If he was at 7-11, it’s about a mile away, give or take. That’s a 30 minute walk, tops, and that’s if you walk very slow. I walk about 4 mph, so it’s 15 minutes for me.

Reasons unexplained? Has anyone heard any theories of any of the reasons yet?

Zimmerman also thought, for reasons unexplained, that his life was in danger. Those who make a living off of racial conflict have no explanation of where Zimmerman got that idea.

This author has a lot of nerve given that it’s been people like this in the media which has done everything it can to use this case to stir the flames of racial discontent. They created a monster and now they are blaming us for reacting to the monster they created.

Trayvon Martin is a tragic figure.

He was 17. When he was 2 his biological mother (Sybrina Fulton) gave up custody of him to his father - despite the fact that she had a stable, union-protected job with the county and access to daycare.

His father, when he was employed, was a long haul trucker who did not figure much in his life - he was raised by his father's long-suffering second wife, Alicia Stanley, who is apparently a churchgoing woman.

When Mr. Martin left Stanley for Brandy Green, Stanley no longer had custody since she had never formally adopted him despite caring for him from age 2 to 16. So he moved - illegally - into Green's condominium where she was raising her own, younger son.

Quite frankly, his personal situation at age 16 was terrible and it seems to be then that he began his wannabe "gangsta" phase and started his short career as a failed tough guy.

What he did to Zimmerman was really stupid and disgusting and he paid the price.

But the adults who were responsible for this juvenile - his mother and father - are more complicit in his death than Zimmerman is, and they preen themselves as victims in the courtroom each day as the press fawns over them each night.

They couldn't raise their son in life, but they trademarked his corpse.

Here’s a preview of what the Defense will be presenting next week at some point. TM ran the length of a football field to the house where he was staying to get away from GZ — and then came back to ambush GZ from the shadows.

Please note that this has been known for a year, yet Old Media will treat it as a “bombshell”.

Zimmerman is a middle-class white Hispanic,

Oh come now, Mr. Bailey, what you really meant to say is that Zimmerman is a middle-class cracker-ass Hispanic.

Reasons unexplained? Has anyone heard any theories of any of the reasons yet?

Zimmerman's reasons for tracking Martin are not the issue at all.

The issue, as I stated at the beginning, is that the fool kid Trayvon Martin, did not continue on to his residence; but instead precipitated his own death.

Rather than minding his own business, he took umbrage, closed the safe gap between himself and Zimmerman, threatened him, sucker-punched him, and was in the process of wilfully endangering Zimmerman's life.

The result: justified lethal rebuttal.

The reason: failure to respect the rights of another human and leave him alone.

Is someone missing the point here?

Is someone's rational behavior affected by melaninitis?

Zimmerman isn’t a white guy.

As a matter of fact he is part black.

So much partly black so that the left goes into conniptions whenever his mom or his uncle are in the court room. The jury can’t help but look at his family and wonder what crackpipe induced the prosecution’s assertion of race hatred.

Trying NOT to follow this case, because of the hype, but came across this video. Turned off all TV News lately.

The video below is a discussion on media bias in this case.
As one person on the panel said - so much going on in the world - the largest protest in history in Egypt and everything is Zimmerman, Zimmerman, Zimmerman.
