In an interview to be published in this weeks issue of Spiegel, American intelligence agency whistleblower Edward Snowden criticizes the methods and power of the National Security Agency. Snowden said the NSA people are in bed together with the Germans. He added that the NSA's Foreign Affairs Directorate is responsible for partnerships with other countries. The partnerships are organized in a way that authorities in other countries can insulate their political leaders from the backlash in the event it becomes public how grievously they're violating global privacy.
Spiegel reporting also indicates that cooperation between the NSA and Germanys foreign intelligence service, the BND, is more intensive than previously known. NSA, for example, provides analysis tools for the BNDs signals monitoring of foreign data streams that travel through Germany. Among the BNDs focuses are the Middle East route through which data packets from crisis regions travel. In total, Spiegel reported that the BND pulls data from five different nodes that are then analyzed at the foreign intelligence services headquarters in Pullach near Munich.

So he’s alive?
And, we’re supposed to believe that the German newspapers are not controlled by the puppet masters
Is something like this even ‘unexpected’ ?
Yavol.
Even more obvious he’s got nothing left regarding spying on Americans.
What he’s REALLY offended at is the naughtiness of the NSA spying on foreigners.
The interesting thing is that there’s now a complete disconnect over what people fantasize that Snowden will release and what he’s actually released or is likely to release.
Again, if it was so easy for people at the NSA to spy on the content of communications of the average American citizen, why didn’t he grab and leak some examples of e-mails or cellphone conversation transcripts?
So were not going to see how the NSA spied on Sarah Palin or was used to win the 2012 election for Obama or how it cooperated with the IRS to harrass Tea Partiers - all we’re going to see from Snowden is how NSA does what it actually does the most of - spy on foreigners.
I’d worry less about the Germans, and more about the Muslims myself.
Maybe this is why W jumped out of his cave: implosion is imminent.
Chia Lin says that an army without spies is like a man with ears or eyes.
For “with” read “without”.
Snowden doesn’t know everything, but what he reveals here is what interests the Germans, D’UH!
I think the real big issue here is that Germany (who has some really tight privacy laws) are using NSA to collect data on their own citizens. I’m basing this on previous UK based info where they were concerned that they were using the NSA to spy on their people.
So the question is...does the US leverage other nations to spy on it’s citizens?
Were also seeing how easily we are distracted.
Following is a list of May/June news stories that ran out steam after Snowden’s deflection.

There is no compartmentalization at all at the NSA? We seem to be awfully quick to accept any thing he says as fact.
> So hes alive?
You know there’s several foaming mouths in the situation room that want his head on a platter for telling the truth about their intrusive domestic spying on the American people
They could give a crap about what we’re doing except to sell it to advertisers - Witness Boston Marathon - but I agree this is shaking the right (bad) people to the core.
Hahahahahahahahahahahaha
Shaken to the core with diplomacy nightmares with no cure - Snowden was right, the system just builds better whistleblowers.
Shocking.
What was Germany's role AND responsibility ???
