This was the Senior moment in the debate that saw Perry’s candidacy implode:

I NEVER liked him.

He’s GW Bush but without that silver tongue.

He only looks good when you compare him to even worse people like that clown Gingrich and everyone who’s ever run against him for Governor.

Anyone who supports him for President again after that pitiful effort last time isn’t playing with a full deck.

McGavin999:

I don't have big problems with Rick Perry. I also don't live in Texas. I have an adult daughter in Texas who is somewhat to my Right on several issues like Gardasil who would not vote for Perry for ANY office any more than I would vote for Senator Nancyboy Kirk or Mushmouth Mittler GOP-E Romney. I would have voted for Perry for POTUS against Obozo. Romney??? NEVER!

Perry has generally championed the pro-life cause and enacted effective legislation on that front. He has certainly kept taxes down, avoided regulation mania, been a solid pro-gun guy, is a practicing Christian of a conservative persuasion.

OTOH, he lacks discipline in public speaking and a sense of effective outreach to those not already in the choir. I think, but am not yet totally convinced, that he would be trustworthy on judges. I think he has an unfortunate weakness for the GOP-E as evidenced by his support for Dewhurst over Cruz. I like him as a personality and he briefly rose to flavor of the week before forgetting his own talking points.

In short, it is important to recognize his good points honestly but national enthusiasm is somewhat unlikely.

You call those of us who ping each other to threads like this "harpies." You would be surprised at the differences among us although the "harpies" agree on much. On an individual basis, sometimes we respond and sometimes we don't.

No one is looking to gang up on you here. You have as much right to your opinions and insights and to voice them as each of us have. Sometimes, we individually may agree with you and sometimes not. Don't be offended in the latter case.

Oh, and BTW, I cannot imagine that Fieldmarshaldj EVER supported Romney any more than I did. Facts are facts.
