"Just make sure that the first words out of your mouth isn’t “this is the way we do it back in Michigan”, ok?

+1.

Well, I sure am not voting for David do-do hurst. We need someone like Tea Party candidate Ted Cruz. I like Greg Abbott and will vote for him.

Been there, don’t like it.

I have traveled Texas from end to end and really like the smaller towns. They are Texas.

True, if you move down and become a Texan then great. Too many are coming and wanting it to be just like where they came from.

Texas could never be where I came from. Y'all don't know what snow is. :)

NB, the author should not be considered a "reporter" at the DMN...he is an editorial columnist listed as a reporter.

He's one of the reasons why I don't subscribe to this rag.

Come to the panhandle in January. We also get snow in the west Texas mountains, just not the over your head snow.

This is coming from The Dallas Morning News, so a left slanted form of analysis is expected.

But this being Texas, these otherwise likable men will draw lessons from the spanking Dewhurst received at the hands of Ted Cruz in last year’s senatorial race, and will now engage in the most shameful effort imaginable to claim the Tea Party mantle — a mantle, by the way, that doesn’t come close to representing the sentiments of most Texans.

Yup all the DIABN (Democrats in all but name) will be climbing all over themselves proclaiming what great 'conservatives' they are, and the media will just go right along with it, as if it had some small bit of reality to it. Why? Because the ideals of the Tea Party do represent the sentiments of most Texans. If it didn't, they wouldn't have to pretend to be something they are not.

Perry's not running for Gov because he's running for president. Won't vote for him. Not in the primary. Not in the general. I don't care what communist they run against him.

Same goes for Dewhurst

Is there any room for all of us?

We need all the conservatives we can get to displace the hordes of invading California and rust belt liberals, and of course, the illegals that are streaming in for a stake in amnesty.

I think Cruz vs. Dewhurst should have taught these ‘sensible’ journalists all they need to know about all the races coming up in Texas. We know a good thing when we elect it.

I’m pretty sure Abbott has his sucessor picked out.

Texas TEA: go head, try to mess with it, if you can find donors stupid enough to finance you.

Yes, if some of us move to around Alpine/Marfa, or Bridgeport or maybe Monahans

Shhhhh, keep Bridgeport a secret. I'm looking at a couple of properties up there for my SHTF getaway.

Send the libs to Monahans...they'll get lost in the dunes. lol

The election of Ted Cruz demonstrates that Tea Partiers abide by The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again", because Ted Cruz is not "the new boss"...he's working for us. We are "The Boss."

Kenny Marchant better be paying attention...

I intend to check out everything—on every candidate—which I do when I have a choice. I was basing my opinion on his performance as AG. And I am at this point not “suspicious” of him, nor do I see any reason to cast doubt of his “cleanliness.” I think he is a man of integrity at this point.
