People are expecting riots in the wake of the Zimmerman trial. With 74 shot over the weekend, maybe a riot would be less violent.

One of the biggest problems is a complete lack of belief that they will ever be treated fairly by the system.

Maybe I'm putting the cart before the horse here:

Would it not behoove the corrupt to encourage such a belief in order to keep them down?

In other words, instead of changing the system for the better (rule of law, etc.), they've encouraged all this social engineering and judicial activism.

Makes one beholden to the powers that be, makes one insecure (after all, contract and property law is based on surety that the future will be enforced in such-and-such terms).
