Can't New York City Do Better? (The people running for office should shock the most jaded observers)
American Thinker ^ | 07/10/2013 | Mario Diaz

New York is a remarkable state, and New York City is simply one of the greatest cities in the world. The food, the theaters, the buildings, the businesses, the many cultures represented are all extraordinary. It is a city of excellence. It is no wonder New York City is the nation's most populated city, with over eight million people. The state's entire population reaches almost 20 million.

It is because of these facts that the entire nation reads with disbelief the news of Anthony Weiner taking the lead in some polls on his run to be mayor of New York City. It is not really surprising that Weiner is running; we know for a fact that he has no shame. But for so many to find him an acceptable candidate is really appalling. Is that really the best New York City has to offer? Weiner? Really? Out of the eight million-plus who live there?

I know the media loves to make fun, especially with the double entendres they can use for headlines in this story, but this is a serious subject -- especially now that he has the gall to run for public office again.

[snip]

But the incredible headlines from the Big Apple do not stop there. Apparently, former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer, who also resigned in disgrace after his involvement with prostitutes was uncovered, has been inspired by Weiner's story and has decided to enter a race for public office after his shameful resignation in 2008. The investigation of Spitzer at the time uncovered suspicious activity reported by the IRS, including the transfer of more than $10,000 to a front company for the prostitution ring. There was a lot to the story.

And of course we have Speaker of the Assembly Sheldon Silver, who is STILL IN OFFICE.

He used tax payer money to settle sexual harrassment suit filed by two female staffers against NYC Assembly Man Vito Lopez ( who is still thinking of running for office ).

And for those who don’t know... what goes around comes around.

Kristin Davis, known as “the Manhattan Madam,” who provided Spitzer with his hookers, is running as a libertarian candidate — this after she was convicted of promoting prostitution in the 2008 investigation involving Spitzer, which landed her in prison for four months.

Davis and Spitzer are both running for city comptroller, the chief accountant and auditor of the city, among other things. You can’t make this up.

Can't New York City Do Better?

No they can't because the vast majority of New Yorkers are liberals and by definition liberals are idiots who are incapable of rational thought.

I'm not sure if "Kristin Davis" was always "Kristin Davis."

She looks like she might once have been Christopher Davis.

Take away the San Fernando Valley hair and makeup, look at the hands and shoulders, and listen to the voice.

In related news, Hugh Hefner is running for Director of Social Services, as is Bill Clinton. Hillary is running for Director of Alcohol & Drug Rehabilitation Services.

Weiner, Spitzer and the Madam... sounds like a comedy troupe.

Well.. in essence, it pretty much IS.

Well...... sounds like the answer is "yes." Apparently there are quite a few worm holes in the "Big Apple," these days...

It may or may not be the best city for its residents but it IS a giant black hole for freedom for those of us who live in upstate NY.

Legislation which again may or may not be good for the city of liberals, communists, progressives and anti-american schools from K to Graduate School, but it hinders those of us in upstate NY who have much different needs. Mainly the need to be free of government intrusion.

If NYC residents want to live like they do, I am fine with that but, we really need upstate to be a separate state as we have nothing in common with NYC, language included.

new york ciy / state is a liberal cesspool..... what do you expect? unions and parasites elect the “public servants” who cater to big real estate interests... new york will follow cali into bankruptcy and the suckers who worked for public pensions are told they will get $0.10 on the dollar.... so what difference does it make that CLOWNS AND CROOKS are running for office. this only reflects the majority clowns and crooks who inhabit the city / state... Chuck the Schmuck Schumer / Gillybag / Cuomo / Bloombag... pathetic
