Speaker John Boehner told Republicans that the internal debate over immigration reform is an “important conversation,” as the House GOP kicked off its closed-door meeting Wednesday afternoon.

Boehner said the House will “not” take up the Senate-passed bill, but said members must do something to address the issue, according to sources inside the room.

Majority Leader Eric Cantor, harkening back to when President Barack Obama first took office, said Republicans need to have a counter offer, just like their alternative to the stimulus.

The sellout has begun. Cantor's "counter offer" is Amnesty disguised as an even more demented version of the Dream Act! These people are INSANE!

“Must?”

How about a fence for a decade, then we can talk.

Is this Politico trying to influence the narrative, or is Boehner about to stab us in the back?

Boehner and Cantor are lower than the chewing gum stuck to the sidewalk.

They need to form a new party and take the rest of the Big Government Republicans with them.

Boehner is stabbing us in the back. So is Cantor and Ryan.

Their trying to cloak Amnesty in a “kindler, gentler” Dream Act is an insult!

Same old story: The Democrats propose to tear down the Washington Monument, and the Republicans respond with a plan to do it in three stages.

The best thing Republicans can do right now is to do nothing.

Let the beast die.

Boehner and Cantor are stupid piss ants.

They are getting ready to present a bill that will go to Compromise and be bombarded with BS.

Just leave it alone and let it die.,

Bring it up next year and the first thing put in it should be a closed border for one year to prove we can do it, Then think about Amnesty.

Paul Ryan is a part of this treachery. He’s the one counting votes.

Who’s shocked by this? I really am not. I knew all along he’d be trying to get this done, it’s just how we were going to find out, and what the particulars of getting it through, were.

Might be true. Might not. What is for certain is that it is Politico agitprop. No more than that.

Both. Why anyone still supports the GOP on FR is life’s 2nd greatest mystery.

Even idiot children only lick the frozen flagpole once.

see, then this is where they’ve shifted us already. “then we’d think about amnesty”. Like the plausibility and acceptability of amnesty as a possible thing the republicans would consider is now on the table. Now not a question of if, but when. Incrementalism and shift us from not debating amnesty itself, but at what point, amnesty?

Cantor told his constituents that the GOP is going to cloak amnesty in a new GOP version of the Dream Act. This isn’t Politico. It’s the GOP-e.

Here's a "counter offer", you poossies:

ENFORCE THE LAWS THAT ARE ON THE BOOKS. IMMIGRATION IS NOT "BROKEN." WASHINGTON IS "BROKEN"!

When one seriously ponders the GOP’s actions, you either get category error or willful participation. And you are dead on right. They learned well from the incrementalism approach of ALL leftist groups. Too bad they put it into play against their base.
