Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott is still sitting on the fence about exactly which state office he is raising money to run for in 2014. But he had 18 million at the end of 2012.
The man with the itchy trigger finger on the Voter I.D. law is already on Twitter crowing about the prospect of his 28th lawsuit.
Yeah, he calls it my 28th lawsuit. Abbott is taking another brave stand against the United Nations.
See?
My 28th lawsuit against #Obama if he signs UN Gun Treaty & Senate Ratifies it. http://t.co/aU98FFHANS #txlege #tcot #txgop #nra #guns #UN

But its on behalf of the good citizens of Texas and certainly couldnt be an attempt to pander to his Tea Party base.
Tom Pauken doesnt pussyfoot around. Hes running for governor. Hell even admit it.
But who in the heck is he?
Is he conservative?
As conservative as it gets. He was the Goldwater flavor of it back in the old days. A Reagan White House staffer later. He looks like he could be Newt Gingrichs brother.
Most recently Pauken has served as Chairman of the Texas Workforce Commission. And he wrote a book about how the Republican Party went wrong and squandered the Reagan legacy. Yeah, he blames Dubya.

Abbott has done a great job at fighting the Feds and the UN types.
What has Pauken accomplished?
Lemme know how that works out. (Heck of a resume)
Doesn’t the UN continue to exist? Did Abbott stop the UN Arms Control Treaty?
No, but he was Jimmy on the spot to throw a legal challenge.
We could kick the UN out tomorrow.
Would they still continue to exist?
One might call that a frivolous lawsuit. Filing a lawsuit, knowing you will lose and spending the taxpayer dollars of Texans to file it.
On August 21, 2006, Governor Rick Perry named Pauken to chairman the Texas Task Force on Appraisal Reform (TFAR) to study and make recommendations on how to address Texans' continuing concerns over property appraisals.[2] In March 2008, Perry appointed Pauken chairman of the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC),[3] which administers state unemployment compensation benefits, provides workforce development services, and maintains and issues state labor market data.
During his time as TWC chairman, which ended in May 2012, Pauken oversaw the development of the Texas Back to Work program and the Texas Veterans Leadership Program (TVLP).[4]
Greg Abbott has that conservative noise making Rick Perry
style.
and does he have a clear point of view about amnesty and illegal immigraton or the fuzzy I want security but no fence approach of Perry.
Is Abbott the real deal Ted Cruz type or the GOP E type who blows the smoke and puts on the show?????
As for Pauken, correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t he of the Paulista faction of the GOP?????
One might call it buying time.
Bowing up.
Throwing a monkey wrench in the gears.
The UN doesn’t fear Abott, they know he’s publicity-seeking Texas politician looking to score a few points with voters. Besides UN lawyers can reap big-time cash to deal with Abbott’s frivolous lawsuits and use Obama’s dues to pay for their attorneys.
You Will never get it.
NO TEXAS GOV OFFICIAL writes immigration law.
We do what the FED forces us to do and we thumb them in the eye in protest
What do you suppose Perry’s true heart is?
Why would they? Texas has no sway over the UN.
It was a warning shot to DC.
I think Abbott has done a stellar job keeping DC in knots.
That is all that Cruz has accomplished so far, and I like Cruz.
This whole Voter ID thing was a Perry Abbott proposal.
We won.
Celebrate.
If you folks in Texas want to know more about Pauken why don’t you go to one of his speeches. I’m sure he’ll answer a few questions. It’s one thing to criticize a politician when you’re sitting alone next to a computer and it’s another thing to meet a politican face-to-face. Besides, Pauken’s campaign can’t afford a multi-miliion dollar security detail, so you can even shake his hand too, even if you disagree with him.
But it’s wasting the taxpayers’ dollars of Texans. Why should Texans be forced to pay for frivolous lawsuits?
Frivolous?
You call Obama wanting to push the UN arms treaty on us frivolous?
Have you not noticed how anti 2nd amendment this current administration is?
Sometimes you gotta ride the fence line brother.
Why should Texans pay for a fence when it is the feds job?
We pick and choose our battles.
No fence seems to me to say a lot when Rick Perry says it.
And saying that the people will trust the politicians when there is “security” says something too when Rick Perry said it.
The political game of the GOP e is to sell people on the notion they are “securing the border” while they open the floodgates to amnesty.
Perry seems to know where his bread is buttered and its the business interests that want cheap labor especially ones in Texas that have propped his political career with cash.
