Remember US troops having to fight Iraqis armed with the weapons we sent them during the 1980s to fight Iran?

In addition to my general distrust as to where our government might send troops today, I couldn’t imagine explaining to a grieving family that their son was killed by an American M-16 sent there by a prior administration.

I’m sure nobody tells them that anyway.

Since the transfers are only under "strict controls", whatever that means, then pro-Assad forces cannot possibly have any US provided weapons and all is well.

Nothing wrong with thumping a Bible or carrying a gun. My husband carried a gun and we are California residents...well he has passed but he did carry...all over the state.

Why SHOULD you care for my opinion? I don't care for yours. That's why Free Republic is so great...we say what we want, NOT caring what the others think.

Yes, it was his trademark show Finish “God Bless and Goodnight”. I was fortunate to see him in concert as well as chat with him decades ago in a small store he had in Tustin,CA.
