S. Korea resumes buying wheat from Ore.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Flour mills in South Korea will resume buying from the Pacific Northwest following a genetically modified wheat investigation.

South Korea stopped importing after a genetically modified wheat crop was found in Eastern Oregon in May.

South Korea will still test for the problem, but will not restrict purchases of wheat grown in Oregon in the meantime. Oregon’s wheat industry brings in around $500 million a year.
