Free Republic stands for God, country, family and that includes traditional one man, one woman marriage as per thousands of years of civilization.

It’s the GOVERNMENT that’s trying to FORCE some other way of living on US!!

If you don’t like what we stand for you’re always free to post somewhere else!

what is it with you, you seem unable to answer any questions,??.

Simple question, d you think the founders would have wanted homosexual marriage, drugs, sell to little kids, have sex with little kids ?

Your no Govt at all is what you are citing and ignoring rule 26 of the communists but then again you know deep down you are a broken record only citing the same crap in every post and you know if you answer should we let old men have sex with 12 year old girls then you are known forever as a child molester

Every post you cite is the article what suits you but if you understood anything then some could interpret other parts of the constitution as for marriage or anything what goes.

Oh and as for you people, then you seem lost, this is not a pro homosexual, pro drug, pro incest sicko, pro sell drugs to little kids, pro bestiality website, maybe you need a communist site as you have nothing in common with conservatives minus you don’t like your taxes.

It may be difficult for “liberal” thinkers to comprehend, but our nation was founded by a very religious people. It’s been forgotten by godless liberals, but morals and traditional values were considered “self-evident truth” by our founding generation. For example, it was understood that our rights were not handed down by government, our UNALIENABLE rights are bestowed upon us by our Creator, GOD, and neither man nor government can deprive us of same.

Our rights are not defined in the constitution nor confined by it, nor should they be. The constitution defines the way our government is established and how it operates, and severely limits and restricts its powers to just those actually enumerated.

Marriage is NOT a constitutional matter. It was not defined or established by the constitution. Marriage between man and woman is a gift from God and has been in existence long before there were any governments at all. Government has no business and no constitutional authority to force immoral, unnatural homosexualism on a moral people.

This is a self-evident truth and is not up for debate, negotiation or compromise on FR. That’s just the way it is. Those who don’t like it or can’t live with it are free to take their business elsewhere.

Sorry to foul up your echo chamber with talk of constitutionally restrained government as written by the founders. Sorry for holding a mirror to people complaining about the drain that welfare queens are on the tax payer while they gladly cash their child tax credit and earned income tax credit checks because they brought children into the world and decided to pass part of the cost off to the rest of us. And I'm sorry for thinking that a site called Free Republic might actually be in support of, oh, I don't know...a free republic instead of some caricature of Oceana, complete with over reachinng federal government and extra awesome sauce.

If pointing a little hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty to some people is too off script, then put on your Zeus helmet, pull my card and be done with it.

Federal welfare (foodstamps, unemployment, obamaphones, giveaway programs, etc) are unconstitutional. So is medicare, social security, etc. These functions are all reserved to the states and the people by the constitution. Likewise the federal government has no constitutional say in marriage or homosexualism or religious matters. Period. They cannot FORCE it on us.

If you give them the power to ban it then you give them jurisdiction over it. That means they can come around in a few years force it down your throat when the political winds change. You can’t have it both ways. Leave marriage to the states. Get it out of the tax code and quit taking favors from uncle fedgov for being married.

Simple question, d you think the founders would have wanted homosexual marriage, drugs, sell to little kids, have sex with little kids ?

The founders wrote what they wanted. Do you think they wanted murderer? No, they left that to the states to deal with. It's not a federal matter. Neither is marriage. If you don't like homosexual marriage, move to a state that banned it. Several even wrote it's prohibition into their constitutions. Quit crying like a retarded 4 year old for uncle fedgov to make people do what you want.

Good. Don’t spend the welfare money you get for them all in one place. It has to last you until January.

Not giving them power to ban it. But they clearly do not have the constitutional authority to force it on us either.

Your support of homosexual crap is duly noted.

I’ll be back.

And, by the way, your infantile nastiness is also duly noted.

Your lack of reading comprehension is also noted. But don't let that get in the way of a good harumph.

I'll be waiting. And I've forgotten more about nastiness than you'll ever know in a lifetime, junior.
