“Every single day we wake up in the city of Chicago, some child, some young adult, some African-American male has been murdered,” state Rep. Monique Davis said Thursday. “This is not acceptable.
“I’m hearing from mothers that they are afraid to go outside,” she said. “Hospitals are overburdened with 70 gunshot wounds in one day. Ambulances are so busy people are driving victims in their own cars.”
Davis held a press conference this week to ask Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn to call in National Guard “to protect our children so they can go to the park and swim and play and have a childhood.” She said the governor has not responded."

If the people of Chicago are unable to govern themselves, then they should not be able to vote in county, state or national elections. The Democrats would tighten them up in about two minutes.
If they arm the insurgents perhaps they will overthrow the Muslim Brotherhood Chicago regime. ;-)

Ironic how Progressive sh!tholes need the National Guard to police the police and restore order. Seems like several years ago they were thinking of sending the National Guard into D.C. to restore order.
And the second a white Guardsman shoots a black thug, a large chunk of the black population of Chicago will be burning down anything they can find after they steal the contents.

US National Guard are local to their areas. What is going on in Chi-town, is to enable locals to brown shirt neighborhoods, vis-à-vis background federal control- by legal side stepping of posse comitatus. Once a challenge is made to the US Constitution. it takes at least 8 yrs to court. In the mean time, the Executive and Legislative can run amok- by a subservient armed/unarmed populace. Protections from abuse, by elected servants, are now longer codified by the US Constitution. Do the next right thing, no matter what, citizen.

Community improvement projects sound wonderful. Where I live, they built a nice open neighborhood to offset the other degrading crime-ridden neighborhoods in this area. They brought in high-end shops and stores too. And that brought in wealthier, higher class people.
Of course, it did not take the criminals long to figure out where the real money was. If the criminals are going to risk jail robbing people, they might as well rob someone rich with possessions worth having as opposed to robbing the poor in their own neighborhoods.
Decent people are starting to move out of that newer and nicer neighborhood as are some of the businesses. I predict that neighborhood will be rundown eventually.
The City of Detroit is bankrupt financially and morally because of liberal politicians and unions. Banks like JP Morgan can build nice neighborhoods to put a nice window dressing over these underlying issues. They can make gated communities and hire guards that protect the chosen few.
The real question in these areas is how do those that are not “chosen” live?
Without change that emphasizes personal moral responsibility, fiscal restraint, limited government, and recognition of the right of decent private citizens to defend themselves and their communities against violent criminals, these cities are doomed to poverty and despair.
Throwing money at societal problems does not solve those problems as our public education system proves handily.
Its important to note that Detroit is an open and concealed carry city.
Not everybody has what it takes to make a difference and for the most part conservatism is in a state of complete moral breakdown with nothing but anger and destruction.
That same regressive mentality also got lots of decent property owners in New Orleans disarmed, arrested, and even beaten by law enforcement when they took personal responsibility for defending themselves and their property.
So, you can see where it is a no-win scenario where regressive politicians like Ray Nagan rule.
Here is a suggestion: get out of Chicago now!
And seal the border!
The law in Dtroit may allow open and concealed carry; however, that does not mean that liberal-minded prosecutors, liberal-minded police, and liberal-minded citizens are accepting of it. Going to court to defend your rights can cost your job as well as lots of money and time whereas prosecutors and police have political protection with the taxpayer as an unlimited financial resource.
Conservatives are rising to meet the challenges; however, it is going to be long frustrating battle to restore our Constitutional Republic and decent people still have to make a living and raise their families.
Well you say a lot. I guess that’s something in your world.
