Posted on 07/13/2013 2:15:21 AM PDT by South40
The Obama administration has faced criticism from both the left and right for its non-interventionist approach regarding the civil war in Syria. The Washington Post, which in the past editorialized that President Obama was weak on the issue, upped the ante Friday.
From the Post:
IT HAS been a month since the White House informed journalists that President Obama had decided to supply Syrian rebels with light arms. Since then, the regime has launched a bloody new offensive in the city of Homs, using heavy artillery and rockets to attack residential areas held by the rebels.

Everywhere, Wash Post. Everywhere.
‘Won’t stick - none of the other MSMers will pick up on it; down the memory hole it goes!
Perhaps not. But at least the Washington ComPost gets it and it does have an audience.
Weak on "the issue"?! On what issue isn't Obama weak?
the WashPo editorial staff is ready to enlist en masse and lead the first wave into Syria in support of al Qaeda?
for once obama’s dithering is a positive thing
But he ought to come out and admit that Syria is a hellhole not of US making and none of the militias or the government there are worth a drop of American blood or treasure
Let the Russians sort it out .. along with the UN
aren’t they the ones thinking of putting Syria on the Human Rights Council, along with Assads buddies in Iran??
Tephlon still working
UNFIT FOR COMMAND
Obama and his team emanate from Chicago criminal politics, where getting into govt is seen as an "investment" All govt payouts are calculated WRT "return on investment"......such as (1) the amt that goes to offshore accounts, (2) amt siphoned off to non-profits and foundations, and, (3) the amt returned as kickbacks from corrupt govts.
One can calculate Obama's "return on investment" by the dollars he "invests" in getting elected. In 2012 Obama bragged he was the first billion dollar candidate.
EXHIBIT ONE Obama gave then-Egyptian President Morsi $250 million in March in addition to 200 Abrams tanks and 12 F-16s, with 8 more to be delivered by the end of the year. Pretty strong support for the Muslim Brotherhood, of which Morsi is a member.
FOX news reported Obama is NOT cutting off US aid to Egypt (even though US law denies aid to govts deposed via muilitary coup).
The Egyptian military is neither under civilian control nor primarily financed by the Egyptian government. It gets more than $1 billion annually in US foreign aid......plus millions upon millions in additional US-financed programs.
EXHIBIT TWO The Congressional Budget Office states enacting S. 744 (The Senate immigration reorm bill) would have a wide range of effects on federal revenues, including changes in collections of income and payroll taxes, certain visa fees that are classified as revenues, and various fines and penalties. Taken together, those effects would apparently increase govt revenues by $459 billion over the 2014-2023 period.
EXHIBIT THREE Obamacare was designed to raise trillions in fines, fees and enrollments.
EXHIBIT FOUR---FOURTEEN TRILLION DOLLARS Behind The Real Size of Obama's Wall Street Bailout; A guide to the abbreviations, acronyms, and obscure programs that make up the $14 trillion federal bailout.
Mon Dec. 21, 2009 12:23 PM PST
The price tag for the Wall Street bailout is often put at $700 billionthe size of the Troubled Assets Relief Program. But TARP is just the best known program in an array of more than 30 programs overseen by the US Treasury Department (strong-armed by Obama's COS staff who held dual positions in the WH And the Treasury) and Federal Reserve that have paid out or put aside money to bail out financial firms and inject money into the markets.
EXHIBIT FIVE---THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION JUST APPROVED $50 MILLION DOLLARS IN FOREIGN AID TO KENYA.
O'S KENYAN HALF BRO IS READY TO CASH IN---RUNS THE TAX-EXEMPT "DO-GOOD IN KENYA" OBAMA FOUNDATION. The tax-exempt charity named in honor of their Dad, is run by President Barack Obamas half-brother Malik.
The tax-exempt Obama foundation, fast-tracked by Lerner for IRS tax-exempt status, is based at a Virginia UPS store, according to its website. The organizations IRS filings list another Virginia address that is actually a drug rehab center where the foundation does not appear ever to have been based.
As first reported by The Daily Caller, the foundation was speedily approved for IRS exemption by Lois Lerner, the self-same IRS senior official at the center of the targeting of conservative organizations that have waited over two years to receive tax exempt status. The IRS thoughtfully gave Obama Foundation retroactive fund-raising status.......which it stupidly never applied for.
EXHIBIT SIX Obama gave oil-rich sub-Sahara Africa $9 billion tax dollars for an electricity program. I guess the running water will have to wait (snix).
WASHINGTON POST: OBAMA SHOWS EXTRAORDINARY FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP ON AMERICA
He’ll be sending arms to the rebels soon. First, to give himself cover, he had to make sure a story was published saying that the rebels were fighting against Al Qaeda. Now he can send weapons to the “good rebels.”
To Washington Post,
You helped put a strange guy in office who has never had a job in the private sector and whose past, at best, is questionable.
This is why you don’t do this. Please espouse your criticism in front of a mirror.
Weekend news dump. Nothing to see here.
he is a trouble maker
NOT a failure.
Obambo knows EXACTLY what he wants, how to get it—and is GETTING JUST WHAT HE WANTS.
Why—did you STILL think he’s on our side?
Obama is an extraordinary specimen and first in so many things.
Among them is the fact that he’s the first African president of America. Too bad his mother didn’t relocate to Zimbabwe.
He’s also the most ignorant narcissist to ever sit behind that antique desk he is fond of using as a footstool. This covers a lot of ground, I know, but this evil piece of mystery meat has got them all beat.
He can claim, if only that closet door wasn’t closed, to be the first homosexual president. When no one’s around he wears his wookie’s clothes, although they sag a bit on him.
He is a detriment and an embarrassment to any Americans who still possess a workable brain.
Obama is a complete failure, as a leader. On EVERY matter he has failed. Remember “jobs?” What about the “immoral” deficits and national debt he taunted Bush about? Does anyone at the Post remember him bragging about the great job on border security he claimed his admin was doing?
On foreign policy—are you kidding me? The “re-set” with Russia is clearly a flop. How about Benghazi? We could talk about that and Libya all day.
He sent back the bust of Churchill and sent the “special relationship” into the trash heap. He surrendered Iraq to jihadis and Iranian interests and is surrendering Afghanistan to the Taliban. He stood by and did nothing while freedom-loving Iranians were gunned down on the streets of Tehran. He engineered the takeover of Egypt by the largest terrorist feeder organization in the world, the Muslim Brotherhood—and even Egyptians can’t stand them.
If he does NOTHING AT ALL about Syria, it might in fact be the greatest triumph of his 8 years in office, the masterstroke.
gays in the military, anti-gun, and “multi-cultural” acorn/voter fraud, as well as “green energy” crony capitalism.
FOX news reported Obama is NOT cutting off US aid to Egypt (even though US law denies aid to govts deposed via military coup).
It was a law that dates back to congressional undercutting of the CIA, which was condemned for “installing” pro-America dictatorships around the world. But the truth is that these CIA-backed governments were replaced by ruthless communists, shariah-mad mullahs, and every form of creep known to mankind.
The world is a FAR MORE DANGEROUS PLACE thanks to the defanging of the CIA by Obama’s pals in the antecedent Left—and now he admits as much by trying to continue funding to the Egyptian military, the only stable force in what is the linchpin Arab nation.
If he had any sense at all, Obama would stop trusting Billy Ayers and George Soros to engineer new regimes in basket case nations and ask the CIA to do it. At least you’d get some competent governing in the bargain, rather than UTTER CHAOS.
It has been a month since the White House informed journalists that President Obama had decided to supply Syrian rebels with light arms. Since then, the regime has launched a bloody new offensive in the city of Homs, using heavy artillery and rockets to attack residential areas held by the rebels.Wow, it's as if he *lied* or something. But in his defense, he's been pretty occupied for most of the past month with trying to restore the Muslim Bro-hood to power in Egypt.
Designed to raise trillions in fines, fees and enrollments.
That covers just about every one of his actions.
Obviously, the NeoCon republicans like SoFloFreeper, South Forty, and John McCain are strong supporters of intervening. And they are willing to intervene unilaterally.
Some republicans and freepers are isolationists and side with Randy Paul and oppose intervening.
The Realist republicans are conflicted on the issue. Previously they were opposed to intervening but some have gradually changed their mind and now reluctantly support intervening. For example Corker(R) who has the GOP chair on the Senate Foreign Relations committee now supports intervening. But other Realists like Richard Lugar and Bob Gates oppose.
You have a similar situation in the dem party. The Liberal Interventionist dems want to intervene. The antiwar pacifist dems oppose intervening and the Realist dems are split on the issue.
You need to understand that Wash Post editorial board is controlled by NeoCon Republicans and Liberal Interventionist dems.
The real news here is that it’s the WaPo.
NeoCon Republicans and Liberal Interventionist dems = Globalists
Jeez, these guys are not quitters.....continuing an agenda meant to erase conservatives from the landscape. What stick-to-it-tiveness these tools of the neocons be. The pukeneos despise conservatives---they came-a-squattin' in the Repub party, and joyfully kicked conservatives to the curb.
BTW, you remember the neocons, don't you? GW Bush installed them in the Office of Special Ops where they connived (using our tax dollars) to get the US to invade Iraq. Puke-duped Bush actually believed the pukeneos when they said that would bring peace.
REALITY CHECK The Middle East is still in turmoil 10 years after the pukeneos duped Bush into invading Iraq. A horrendous foreign policy decision devised by the pukeneos on the backs of the 2300 killed on 9/11.
Let's be clear---Iraq's in the Mideast---a place the pukeneos said was "thirsting" for American-style democracy.
(waiting for hysterical laughter to die down)
Same place now known as a terrorist hellhole where trillions of US tax dollars were wasted and rivers of young blood were shed. <><> Where the blood-thirsty Muslim Brotherhood has a stranglehold. <><> Where the WSJ reported neocon godfather, Richard Perle, is starting an oil company with his war profiteering billions (your tax dollars at work).
It took the US about a decade to get out of Iraq....as the globe erupted into Mideast-centered terrorism.....and hate-filled Muslims set sail for America.
But not to worry---at the serene Four Seasons lounge, where the champagne flows, the Iraq War is still seen as a really, really good idea......and hatred for conservatives continues unabated.
Mmmmm......sure would like to be a fly on the wall at the Four Seasons---where the puke elite meet downtrodden GOP'ers---- over chilled Cristal, imported room temp Brie and water crackers.
Rubio just hired a puke for his campaign team. Looks like there's gonna be A LOT MORE puke-invasions and land wars since the pukes duped Bush into invading Iran, now that the entire 100 million-strong Muslim world is aflame with hatred for the US, Americans, and Christians.
PIN THE TAIL ON THE COUNTRY THE US SHOULD INVADE NEXT--I guess the pukes will have to pin donkey tails on a Mideast map to decide which country they want the US to invade next (cackle).
REFERENCE On the eve of the US invasion of Iraq, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee heard testimony from Marine Corps Gen Anthony Zinni---and other millitary experts---that the architects of the Iraq invasion were totally ill-prepared for a post-combat occupation. The military experts ridiculed administration claims that rebuilding could be achieved within two years, that the weapons of mass destruction would be destroyed-------and that a vibrant new political and economic system would emerge.
AFTERMATH Ten years later, Iraq---and the rest of the Mideast---has yet to create a viable political and economic system....(a system the pukes knew was totally incompatible w/ archaic Islamicist thinking).
Liz: There’s a LOT of puking going on in your post! At one point there I thought I’d .... gag.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
why? have the neocons suddenly taken over the WashPost?
are they just upset that the Sunni-Islamist putsch in Syria does not have Am jet fighters and bombers working for it??
What sort of “leadership” is Obama supposed to show on Syria? Does the WshPost want him to arm Al Qaeda?
Syria is none of America’s business and there are no good guys in sight anyway. Leave the two sides to duke it out, and if Assad wins then at least the Christians will be safe.
