I keep wondering how anyone could be comfortable being a member of the same party as the evil people in Austin TX this past month who are yelling “hail satan” and threatening to throw feces.

I see Rove is already ramping up for 2016.

Rove will be in Jeb Bush's camp for 2016. If anything, he'd be pushing Bush to select Christie for the Veep slot.

How can a Democrat save the Republican Party?

All of this recent liberal concern and advice over the future viability of the Republican Party is so heartwarming. /sarc

This just tells me the libs are worried that a backlash is coming when it becomes painfully clear (to even the low information voters) that their utopian schemes wrecked the country. Think Obamacare. They are hedging their bets against this scenario and hoping for a liberal Republican as an alternative. Simple as that.

If the Democratic Party needed saving, Christie may be the (little o) one.

I thought McCain and Romney were supposed to save the GOP from itself.

Christie would save the GOP just like McCain in 08 and Romney in ‘12. Yes, the Rhinos are saving the GOP. More Rhinos is what we need.

Wishful thinking from the usual northeastern Liberal/RINO clique.

Good grief! We will probably get Christie-Rubio. Another nose-holding ticket.

You may hold your nose and vote for such a ticket, but I won't and neither will the overwhelming majority of posters on this thread.

Taking advice from the WP is like taking religious instruction from an Imam. He just knows what you need to do is "be reasonable," just submit to our desert moon god and you and I will get along just fine. Oh, and hold this towel for me while I cut your Crusader neighbor's head off.

And that, my friends, is the problem with Christie. He's apparently blind to the clear and present danger embodied in the Islamic political mass movement, particularly as it is aligned with America's radical socialist faction.

He's a product of that foul tasting particular flavor of Experimentalism that John Dewey emotively labeled Progressive Education, so he sees "racism" everywhere.

An "Islamophobe" is "a racist," though such a conclusion is no more logical than labeling as "racists," or "haters" of Germans, critics of the Nazis before they invaded Poland.

I'm sure Christie really believes he's Conservative, but that dog won't hunt.

Exactly. And the minute, the very minute Christie got the nomination (God forbid, but assume it for a moment) the media and the dems would start deriding him as FAT FAT FAT (because they’re so mature); ANTI-CHOICE, ANTI-CHOICE, ANTI-CHOICE (because abortion is their golden idol); ANTI-GAY, ANTI-GAY, ANTI-GAY (because he’s not behind gay marriage, even tho’ NJ already has civil unions); etc, etc, etc.

And that’s before all the actual negative stuff about Christie, which of course they’ll be sure to mention too.

I’m starting to think they ARE just the stupid party. All the naivete of Charlie Brown and none of the charm.

Dude, not for nothing, but if they pass amnesty I’m not voting R again. I might consider Rand Paul, but I think our country will be finished at that point anyway, so why bother? Let the Mexicans, et al pick our ruler.

“His positions on issues makes him a liberal rino.”

He is pro-life and has capped our property tax increases resulting in thousands of government workers losing their jobs in NJ.

RINO? He won election with those positions.

He has a few conservative positions. But that doesn't make him a good conservative candidate. The only reason he even won is because he was in an election in New Jersey.
