George Zimmerman found not guilty of murder in Trayvon Martin's death

George Zimmerman is not guilty of the murder of Trayvon Martin, a Florida jury decided late Saturday.

The fact that Zimmerman fired the bullet that killed Martin was never in question, but the verdict means the six-person jury had reasonable doubt that the shooting amounted to a criminal act.

The verdict caps a case that has inflamed passions for well over a year, much of it focused on race and gun rights.

The six-person jury -- all women -- basically had three choices: to find Zimmerman guilty of second-degree murder; to find him guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter; or to find him not guilty.

The jurors deliberated for 16½ hours total, including 13 on Saturday alone, before delivering its verdict.

A lot of us knew this from the very beginning.

What’s happening in Florida now?

“...he should never have been charged in the first place.”

Yes, God is Good! And for this young man, he is now free, he cannot be charged and tried again on any related criminal charges.

Pray now that Holder, the evil legal arm of Obama, the evil usurper in the White Hut, cannot succeed with any Civil suits. May they both rot in Hell.

Just a small note. In this case, shouldn’t it be ‘persecuters’ instead of prosecutors, though the latter be their title?

Praying for us all. I will say I didn’t expect this verdict, and I do feel a great sense of relief, but obviously it ain’t the end of it.

Also watching Fox and they are showing some views outside the courthouse. There is a large banner being held and standing around it are members of the New Black Panthers.

How long until Eric Holder files charges for “civil rights violations”?

Later tonight, probably.

yup. I was pretty confident that he would be acquitted but the manslaughter business changed the game. Looks like the jury saw through it though. I hope there’s a book that comes out of this. Two actually- one from GZ and one from a juror.

Me too. I was afraid the jury would make a decision based on potential riots.

WhooHoooo I can’t believe it-I thought the jury would cave to external pressure. Thanks to them for making their decision based on testimony and known facts.

What’s happening in Florida now?

Hurricane Sabrina is now forming in the area.

Will probably get full disability from her government job now, though
