MSNBC crushed in Zimmerman ratings race
Politico ^ | 15 Jul 20134 | DYLAN BYERS

MSNBC's ratings woes came into sharp relief on Monday with the release of the preliminary numbers for the Zimmerman verdict.

In the 10-11 p.m. hour on Saturday night, when the verdict in, Fox News had 3,682,000 total viewers; CNN had 3,407,000 total viewers and won the coveted demo with 1,716,000 viewers aged 25-to-54.

In the same hour, MSNBC had 1,298,000 total viewers -- about one-third of Fox's total -- and a mere 510,000 viewers in the demo. (These are preliminary numbers; finals are in tomorrow.)

Despite branding itself as "the place for politics," MSNBC went wall-to-wall on the Zimmerman trial after watching its ratings tank in recent months. It doesn't seemed to have helped.

510,000
It seems to me like that is WAY more viewers than MSNBC could ever have.

There must be a decimal in there somewhere.....

510 viewers?

51?

5.1?

*What’s MSNBC?

It’s the network that’s slogan is “bend over” or something... *

I think their slogan is:

“We don’t break the news, we bend the truth”

The State of Florida Prosecutor’s office also COVERED UP that Travon Martin had kiddie porn on his cell phone, as well as pics of him menacingly holding a handgun. But, their IT guy testified to the truth, and was then FIRED for that!!

The few times I’ve clicked past it they were still showing 12 year old Trayvon.

“I ended up watching CNN over the weekend, because Fox is just pathetic when it comes to breaking news, especially on weekends.”

Mark O’Mara is going to be on the Hannity show tonight. So despite what you may feel about Fox now, it might be worth tuning in.

The Fox News Channel, lousy as it was, won by default. Its coverage of the Zimmerman/Martin trail was rewarded by high viewer numbers simply because CNN’s coverage was a Joke, Headline News Network, was a shouting scam, horrible to watch and listen to.......and then there was MSNBC that mired itself in the cesspool of Martin adoration with no respect for what the law called for. MSNBC is on life support, at best!!! Wake up, folks, Obama is a failed POTUS, here in the USA, and around the world. We are being laughed across the world!!!

“What’s MSNBC?”

Isn't ironic that Pravda is probably a better place for real news and info these days?

Yes.

I was one of the people watching MSNBC after the Zimmerman verdict. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I did the exact same thing...

It's hard to explain to rational people how twisted, convoluted, irrational, misinformed their coverage was...

It was almost like you entered into an alternative universe....

Yep, I definitely intend to watch that.

I do occasionally still view Hannity’s show and sometimes even Girdle’s, er I mean Gerta, depending on what it is they are covering.

I am interested in hearing what the attornies have to say about the continued persecution and demonization of their client, who is now an innocent man.

“Zimmerman ratings race”? Celebrity voyeurism and sensationalized crimes are all most Americans care about. We need a new distraction.

"MSNBC went wall-to-wall on the Zimmerman trial"

This reminds me of the Brad Pitt character in the movie Kalifornia.

You DON'T want to go into that bathroom. It's just wall-to-wall stink.
