Times reporter Ruben Vives is reporting live in South Los Angeles, where protesters are taking to the streets around Crenshaw and Martin Luther King Jr. boulevards to oppose the not-guilty verdict for George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who killed Trayvon Martin.
Earlier, dozens of protesters gathered in Leimert Park for a vigil in support of Martin. Following the vigil, marchers moved along Crenshaw Boulevard chanting "No justice, No Peace."
Police estimated that 80 to 150 people began engaging in lawless activity along Crenshaw as they jumped on top of vehicles and appeared to assault bystanders.
Some protesters stormed a Wal-Mart as guards scrambled to close security gates. A short while later, Los Angeles Police Department officers wearing helmets and carrying batons swarmed the store as others marched through the parking lot.
The LAPD declared a tactical alert about 9 p.m., which means that off-duty officers can be held on duty when their shifts end and may respond only to high-priority calls.
The LAPD arrested at least one person but vowed to take more into custody if the lawless actions continued.
Zimmerman, 29, was acquitted Saturday in Florida of second-degree murder and manslaughter in the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin, 17.

Today I officially start vacation. This trial date was set for maximum carnage, knowing Zimmerman would walk free. This is how democrats do politics.

Really mad about this - You’d think that once the trial is over they would accept the verdict.
Seems to be not so in this awful racist world (all controlled by the left it seems). Have given up on justice these days as it seems to be more dependent upon who you control and who is the a leftist rather than right or wrong. Sure hope that this is just because of our current justice system and not a permanent fixture. Time will tell but am not hopeful.
Just look at the Senate and Congress, all losers and hopeless crooks. Ah but at least 20% of the public think that they are decent and honest folks...heh, stupid is the kind word.

I heard local Fox news LA say that the protesters are the “same race as Trayvon.” They’ll never ever ever say that the rioters are black — same thing during Rodney King riots in 1992.

most of the photos show mostly middle aged white protesters, with a few token blacks. The one in Time Square, which is on the front page of the local (Manila) paper shows over half are definitly paler of skin than Zimmerman...
These “demonstrations” were organized by Obama’s folks (e.g. “move on” etc). This is political, not racial, protest. My liberal friend has all the hate stuff on facebook, by the same groups that post hate stuff about Republicans, religious believers, pro life people, etc. It’s almost as if she has to have Orwell’s “One Minute Hate” every day, and I’m thinking of not checking facebook from now on.
If the blacks were demonstrating, they’d be really causing trouble in the hood, not demonstrating in city center where the tv cameras are.
The police allowing VANDALS to commandeer major streets and intersections for OVER 2 HOURS is a “clash with police”? LOL!
