Israel has summoned the Polish ambassador to Jerusalem to register a formal protest against that nations ban against ritual slaughter (shechitah).
In a harsh statement condemning the decision of a foreign democratic nation, Israels Foreign Ministry said Israel is disappointed that Poland has chosen to forbid an important religious ritual which has been common practice among millions of Jews since ancient times. The Parliaments decision to reject a bill allowing kosher slaughter in Poland is totally unacceptable, the statement read.
Polands history is intertwined with the history of the Jewish People. This decision seriously harms the process of restoring Jewish life in Poland. We are astonished that Poland, of all EU countries, should be the one where kosher slaughter will be forbidden.

...incompatible with animal rights law
So, do the Poles eat beef?
Of course they do, and those cows are being "slaughtered" for meat every day.
It involves scrupulously examining the special surgically sharp knife before each individual slaughter (no knicks are allowed or the slaughter is not considered kosher), and drawing the knife in one smooth motion across the throat (no sawing back and forth, or it is not considered a kosher slaughter), instantly severing all the major blood vessels, trachea, esophagus, etc. Properly done, it results in the animal losing consciousness within about 30 seconds.
Halal slaughter, on the other hand, does not require the extreme care of schechita, so any Muzzie can go hacking away at some poor cow, sheep or goat. If it takes 3 whacks to finally decapitate it, what the heck. But you don't see these countries banning halal slaughter. Mustn't madden our Muzzies, eh?
Poland has banned ALL types of ritual slaughter that doesn’t allow for the animal to be stunned first. It affects halal and kosher slaughter equally.
Polish law requires all animals to be stunned before being killed. Halal and kosher require the animal to be conscious during the slaughter.
Oh yeah, and the jaded stunner-workers are gonna be absolutely sure that the beast is properly stunned before they cut its throat hanging upside down. Tell me another fairy tale. I’ve read plenty of horror stories about unskilled or uncaring slaughterhouse workers. They have also thrown conscious animals into vats of boiling water to debristle them, etc. So going for “animal must be stunned first” is absolutely no guarantee that the animal will be killed humanely. Schechita at least has high standards to kill the animals humanely and swiftly. As I stated before, halal can be done by rank amateurs with no training. Just Google those mass cattle slaughters for Ramadan, etc. and you’ll see what I mean. Like I said, this is just a form of anti-semitism we’ve seen before.
I didn’t claim it was a guarantee of anything. You posted that the law only affected kosher slaughter and didn’t deal with halal. I merely pointed out that you were wrong.
OK. Thanks for the update in information.
So? The animal goes through the slaughter house with the smell of death and blood in its nostrils, and then gets hung upside down and slaughtered...even if there is a small stun just before the act.
This type of thing is true whether it is beef, chicken, pigs, etc. they all have to be slaughtered before they are eaten and someone does that work.
Canceling Kosher slaughter is nothing but a purely political symbolic gesture aimed at satisfying a very small group of people in a special interest group. My guess is the Jews treat those sacrificial animals, in whole, much better than they are treated in a slaughter house.
In the end, people in Poland eat meat, so animals by the millions continue to be slaughtered. It’s a part of life.
How would you prefer to die - unconscious or your throat cut while you’re awake?
It’s not like getting your throat cut by the mob.
A swift cut to the jugular is about as painful as cutting yourself w/a razor.
Much better than being clubbed.
Hahahahahahahahahaaaa... “Halal slaughter, on the other hand, does not require the extreme care of schechita...” tell that to the animal as its bleeding out.
We used to have a tradition of burning witches... it purified their souls.
Animals don’t understand speech. They run on instinct.
What is with the new movement to turn FR into PETA?
That certainly will placate Israel’s government.
There are more humane ways of providing food for the table.
Gods creatures need not suffer.
What suffering exists within the thirty seconds (or maybe less) between knife stroke and unconsciousness?
Cuts with very sharp blades are even painless for humans, incidentally. Ever have a cut that you didn’t notice until blood was seen?
This “animal rights” conceit is not conducive to conservatism that I can see. Especially when it attacks the Jews.
BTW, I have noticed that those that throw the phrase “Gods (sic?) creatures” around so casually are usually some manner of pagan. Many others have also noticed this.
Are not pagans Gods creatures?
Is this a rhetorical question?
No.
