I know too many guys that WERE THERE.
People who weren’t involved AT ALL other than being on the roster had their careers ended. They were PERSECUTED for political correctness’ sake.
I won’t belabor the point, but it had repercussions far beyond the Naval services.
Go back and look at my posts.
At no point did I claim it doesn’t happen — of course it (sexual harassment of women by men in the military) does. You jumped all over me despite the fact I didn’t even address the situation other than to pose the question of “What does that tell you” regarding the article I cited by hyperlink — an article that dealt with male-on-male sexual assaults in the military.
I’m trying, really trying, to make sense of your mangled syntax, but let me just make a couple of points.
You say (apparently, in a disorganized way) that women were not “welcome” in the “good ole boys’ military”.
Of course they were! Just not in all the same roles as men! Did you expect women to land at Normandy and Utah beaches with 70 pound backpacks alongside the men? Taking your stance as stated, you would! Everyone knows that would have been insane! But women were welcome as nurses, as “Rosie Riveters” and even as ferry pilots taking our bombers to the European theater....that’s not a put down to women at all! You need to visit the WWII Museum in New Orleans, and learn more about women’s contributions to the war effort, something you may actually know but are too busy downplaying to bolster your argument.
When you apply modern standards to a completely different era (one that was highly functional, I might add) that’s call MODERNISM. And that’s what your lamentations appear to be based upon.
On the other hand, today we have commanders making speeches during “LGBT month” saying ‘Our LGBT military members are critical to the mission”. Really? Since when? What mission would that be?
Finally, you appear to take the position that recognizing sexual assaults by men on men in the military somehow diminishes the attention given to sexual harassment of women by men. You flew off the handle at me and some others in this forum with your assumptions that we belong to some secret society of women-haters, who “brush under the rug” allegations of male sexual harassment of women, because we are noticing the problem of similar occurrences regarding men.
Are you sure you aren’t the founder of the “Womanly Woman Man-Hater’s Club”?
Checks & balances and all that.
Don’t know what’s in the bill; but you have to be suspicious when a Demorat is involved.
Wow! If Cruz comes out and states this is the reason he is for this bill...
“...bill; but you have to be suspicious when a Demorat is involved....”
That is your first flag!
“..Checks & balances and all that....”
it always “sounds” good when a Demo(n)crat is involved.
