Liz Cheney to Seek Wyo. Senate Seat Held by Repub.

Former Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter Liz Cheney will run against Wyoming's senior U.S. senator in next year's Republican primary, her campaign said Tuesday.

Liz Cheney, 46, is the elder of Dick Cheney's two daughters. Her announcement is a political challenge unlike anything Wyoming has seen for years, maybe decades.

Republicans in the state rarely challenge incumbents of their own party in national office. All three members of the state's congressional delegation and all statewide elected officials are Republican.

Liz Cheney is married and has five children. She hasn't been a longtime Wyoming resident but she and her husband bought a home in the posh northwest Wyoming community of Jackson Hole last year.

"I am running because I know, as a mother and a patriot, we can no longer afford simply to go along to get along. We can't continue business as usual in Washington," Cheney said in a statement.

Meanwhile, apparently aware that Cheney's announcement was imminent, Sen. Mike Enzi announced his bid for a fourth term. He made the announcement more than six months earlier in the political cycle than he has in the past.

Enzi said he would continue to "do the job I was already elected to do."

Loving the sinner does not mean accepting the behavior or making them a leader.

So, what do you do about it? I vote, and unfortunately, we get kicked in the teeth by both parties. My better is Jesus Christ - otherwise, we are all equal in his eyes. Just because some think they are better than others, doesn’t make it so. I don’t care what clout they have or people they know - if they don’t know the King of Kings and Lord of Lords - they are nothing in my eyes.

And I didn’t say that either did I? No, I didn’t. I am amazed at some on here who mirror the left and put words and interpret things the way they want. Unfortunately, we have put many in leadership roles who have disappointed us, so I don’t put any of them on a pedestal.

I wonder where she stands on amnesty, building a border fence, fair tax/flat tax, forcing a show down on the budget even if it means shutting the government down, voting on SC justices, etc.

Sounds like a certain former Senator from New York, who oversaw the massacre in Benghazi as Secretary of State! What's her name? Didn't she move in one day and declare she was running for Senator of New York? Damn! What's her name? You know, she is married to an ex-President who was impeached! Well damn! What's her name? Anyway, kinda reminds me of that scenario!

Go Liz!

“She hasn’t been a longtime Wyoming resident but she and her husband bought a home in the posh northwest Wyoming community of Jackson Hole last year.”

In other words, she’s a carpetbagger - just like Hillary Clinton when she moved up to New York in 1999.

Enzi’s not perfect. But is he bad enough that we should primary him with a carpetbagger who ideologically may not be better than him?

This isn’t the era of Abraham Lincoln or Davy Crockett.

Sadly, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Crockett was run out of Washington by the very man people who supported his election, Andrew Jackson's political machine. Jackson's powerful machine was the establishment of the day and when Crockett learned the truth about Jackson, he would not play his then liberal games.

So Jackson invested heavily in his opponent and got him ousted from his House seat. Crockett headed west and eventually ended up in Texas, where as they say, the rest is well known history.

As for Lincoln, all he did was destroy our ability to ever take on the Federal Government again.

No, I would say that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Like it or not, the political bar always moves to the left, so that we conservatives can often times find ourselves defending some things we once fought against.

I pay attention and fight for the conservatives to win, but my faith is in our never changing Creator and Lord, not the ever changing beliefs of man.

Yes, Cheney has really let me down, too, with his pro-homo stuff.

You are so right — about Cheney and about Bush. Breaks my heart to learn the truth.

In 2000, my husband and I spent a few Saturday’s in DC telling Gore, “Get out of Cheney’s house. We were so gung-ho for Cheney that when we adopted a cat around that time we named it Cheney. Kitty ran off last January. Maybe he had learned the truth and was too disgusted to go on with that name.

I don’t know how you could construe my reply as to saying anything but what you also stated?
