Zimmerman prosecutors sued by fired IT worker

Zimmerman’s suing NBC, Martin’s parents are (probably) suing Zimmerman — isn’t it time that someone sued the one actor in this case whose motives were most provably malign?

Maybe this is a first small step in sending Corey to join Mike Nifong in disgraced-former-prosecutor obscurity.

Ben Kruidbos, Corey’s former director of information technology, was fired after testifying at a pre-trial hearing on June 6 that prosecutors failed to turn over potentially embarrassing evidence extracted from Martin’s cell phone to the defense, as required by evidence-sharing laws.

“We will be filing a whistleblower action in (Florida’s Fourth Judicial District) Circuit Court,” said Kruidbos’ attorney Wesley White, himself a former prosecutor who was hired by Corey but resigned in December because he disagreed with her prosecutorial priorities. He said the suit will be filed within the next 30 days…

The six-page letter, dated July 11, charges Kruidbos with “deliberate, willful and unscrupulous actions” that make him untrustworthy and calls his questioning of de la Rionda’s actions regarding the cell phone evidence “a shallow, but obvious, attempt to cloak yourself in the protection of the whistleblower law.”

If I understand correctly, the prosecution claims the defense was provided the raw data from the phone, but not given a product of their manipulation or research from the data. He was fired for telegraphing this, but I’m not sure whether he’ll prevail. As far as I know they (prosecution) wouldn’t be required to divulge their analysis of basic data they claim to have given the defense..

Flame away.

Discovery will be a b*tch — even worse of a one than Corey herself.

The prosecution is required by the Constitution to provide the defense with all potentially exculpatory information. I doubt if they can get away with providing the raw hard drive data without providing the data they extracted from it, if they were able to extract it. This is no different from a ME report or a DNA report. You don’t provide the blood, you provide the report.

“suit will be filed” is not the same as “sued.”

EXACTLY - perfect analogy, and one similar will certainly be used in this case.

prosecutors failed to turn over potentially embarrassing evidence extracted from Martin’s cell phone to the defense, as required by evidence-sharing laws.

The girl Martin was talking to on the phone said Martin thought Zimmerman was a homosexual predator (in an interview on CNN), and she told him to run. Martin didn't, because he thought the homo might follow him home and discover he had a younger brother living there. So Martin attacked Zimmerman in what he thought was self defense. Of course, Zimmerman was taken by surprise, because all he was doing was watching the neighborhood for strangers and potential thieves. All of a sudden, this 6'11 guy was pounding on his face for no reason.
This is probably why they don't want the phone call released. Martin, a young 17 year old boy and a favorite for homosexual males, didn't want to get raped by the perceived homosexual preditor. This is why the whole incident occurred, but no one in the media wants to tell the truth about it. It "came out" during the CNN interview.

It was more than “analysis” of basic data, it was the content of the emails, text messages and photos. Your terminology and explantation claims that all the prosecution was required to turn over was the equivalent of the NSA snooping, but in reality, the prosecution had the phone in their possession and was required to turn over the information that was retrieved from the phone. It’s pretty simple.

Corey is the new Nifong.

I was just saying what I think the prosecution team will claim. Those were their words. It doesn’t reflect what I actually think about what they did.

This case will open up those files that the SAO is still trying to hide for which Corey and Bernie are shortly to face a Sanctions Hearing.

Since there are 1st Amendment issues involved, the lawsuit should be filed in federal court.

Angela Corey and Bernie “The Roach” may think the Zimmerman case
is over. It’s just beginning for these hacks. For every action, there is an
equal and opposite reaction. The equal and opposite reaction is just
beginning for them. God speed to this ethical employee who was fired.
May these hacks get everything bad that is coming their way! And lots
of it!

For my own future knowledge, where in the Constitution does it say that? Not a smart ass response.

All the dirty tricks the State did to Zimmerman and his defense team will
come out in discovery and depositions. That will be fun in itself. We will
have to see what happens after that.

Yep. It turns out Martin was a "homophobe" who didn't want to get raped by a homosexual preditor who may have liked teenagers (or his younger brother), and was trying to protect his and his little brothers hind ends (literally).
