Natalie Jackson, co-counsel to the family of slain teen Florida Trayvon Martin, said today that the almost all-white jury that acquitted the man who shot Martin was racist.
Jackson made the remarks to CFNews13, a cable news outlet of Central Florida cable TV provider Brighthouse Networks, on the special report 'George Zimmerman Trial: Beyond the Verdict'".
Jackson said that she initially voiced her approval for the jury of five white women and one mixed-race woman because she wanted Americans to see if the nation had made racial progress so that an almost all-white jury could convict George Zimmerman in the February 26, 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida.
Jackson said the millions of people around the country outraged at the acquittal of Zimmerman proves the jury was racist. She said is going to use the outrage at the verdict to effect change.
Jackson is an independent Orlando lawyer who works with the Tallahassee firm of Park & Crump to represent the family of Trayvon Martin.
Parks & Crump lawyer Jasmine Rand, followed by firm co-founder Daryl Parks exposed themselves as leftist agitators engaged in "social engineering" in successive interviews with Fox News' Greta Van Susteren. While both questioned the wisdom of the Zimmerman jury, they did not go as far as Jackson did in her criticism.
No video of the interview is online as of now. Also during the special, Jesse Jackson said the almost all-white jury acquitted Zimmerman because of "cultural bias", a dog-whistle for calling them racist.
TM wants a jury of his peers but the law clearly states its a jury of the peers of the defendant that determines the verdict
Wish all who bitch would be confronted by that fact each time they opened their mouth.
This behavior should lead to disbarment. Lawyers have no business criticizing a jury like this.

As he arrived Wednesday morning at Orlando International Airport, Jackson said he was upset over the verdict, adding even though Zimmerman ended up not using Florida's Stand Your Ground law in his defense, Jackson still wants to see the controversial gun law repealed.
Jackson and Martin Luther King III both said they believe the jury was not diverse enough to get a fair assessment of what happened the night 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed.
"We've got to find a way to ensure that everyone in this nation is treated in a just and humane way with our system of justice," King III said.
"They had a whole white prosecution staff. They should have had white, black and female [prosecutors]," said Jackson. "No blacks on the jury, and now they're showing their own cultural biases. They really identified more with Zimmerman than they did with Trayvon."
Five of the six members of the all-female jury that acquitted Zimmerman were white. The sixth was said to be mixed-race. Prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda had identified her as a "black/Hispanic woman."

I spoke to someone at the CFNews 13 newsroom. He said the likely problem with the online video is that it is being uploaded and to check back in a while.
Of course they did. They're all adults from the same community as the defendant. That's what "jury of your peers" means.
If the prosecution were so concerned, then why didn't he file a motion for a change of venue to someplace more neutral?
