WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrats doggedly pursuing a far-reaching immigration bill are counting on help from Republican Rep. Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney’s running mate last year and an unlikely candidate for delivering the centerpiece of President Barack Obama’s second-term agenda.

No disagreement here, but we’ve GOT to stop playing small ball if we ever want to get out of the position we’re in where Ryan, Rubio, McCain, Graham, et al are considered the “stars” of the (Conservative?) (Republican?) (Whatever?) party.

We may prevail in 2014 but I can’t see any way this clown posse can head off President Hillary in 2016, based on how things are going.

can we not see by the headline what an inherently awful idea this is for the gop???

ryan is dead to me and so is boner. i hope they both get replaced by fresh young hardcore conservatives who actually will resist compromise and refuse to get sucked into the traps of democrats - well we won’t endorse dems ideas but we’ll come up with our own awful ideas....

sometimes just saying no is the right idea, assclowns.

“‘‘Paul Ryan says we cannot have a permanent underclass of Americans, that there needs to be a pathway to citizenship,’’ says Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., who has been working relentlessly on immigration legislation. ‘‘He is my guiding light. I know I get him in trouble every time I say it.’’”

Ryan-Gutierrez 2016!

>> OK, so Ryan will destroy his political future like his cuban counterpart in the Senate.

With any luck, this RINO POS will get the ‘vapors’ like his cuban counterpart in the Senate.

Paul Ryan not only voted for TARP, but pushed it as a “solution” to corporate financial problems (at taxpayer expense). Guess he forgot that government is not the solution, it IS the problem. TARP effectively ended McCain’s already slim chances and ushered in the era of Obama all out Marxism and gave him the means to expand big government like never before—and reward his cronies and supporters, again at tax payer expense. Ryan then gave Obama a “no limit” credit card to expand government, again at taxpayer expense. And now Ryan, the supposed sharp pencil fiscal bean counter, wants to complete the job of totally wiping out the American economy and the American worker with this job killing, economy killing, sovereignty killing AMNESTY B/S. FUPR!! TRAITOR!!.

I’d rather be impolite but still love like Jesus did. Jesus warned a lot of people they were headed in hell’s direction but never wished anyone there.

treacherous, duplicitous, feckless backstabber just like McCain and Graham. IN his case it is anything for big business.

OK, so Ryan will destroy his political future like his cuban counterpart in the Senate.

Yep. Except Ryan is doing his dirty work "behind the scenes". At least Rubio had the stones to be front and center about his treason.

I voted for McCain... I feel betrayed.

I voted for Ryan.... I feel betrayed.

Do I observe some kind of pattern here?
