China blocks Glaxo executive from leaving the country

Pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline revealed more bad news Wednesday, disclosing that Beijing officials have barred GSK's head of finance for China from leaving the country amid accusations of widening $490 million bribery scandal.

GSK's China finance director Steve Nechelput's foreign travel has been restricted since late June, according the British drug company, which pointed out he is still working and allowed to travel within China.

"It is important to stress that at no time has he been questioned or arrested—nor is he one of the individuals in detention," said a GSK spokesman of the British national Nechelput.

That's small comfort to GSK, which has seen four of its Chinese executives detained because of the alleged bribery scandal, which comes on the heels of the company firing its head of research in development in China over a published article that misrepresented data.

Good. May all the traitors get similar treatment.

All CEO, presidents, and vice-presidents of the top ten US financial firms at the time of the economic meltdown continue to languish at Guantanamo awaiting trials for treason.

Oh wait, I was only day dreaming.

Bump.

There may be something involved in this, but face facts as well.

Beijing is a communist nation, and our companies are over there cooperating with communists.

China is becoming richer, more capable and America is becoming poorer and less capable.

Just saying.

Gets harder and harder and harder for me to pity the leaders of Big Biz.

Profits? Great. Big profits? Even better..! Make ‘em huge...!

But somehow, as businesses get huge with lots of rules and a high headcount, they get more and more “progressive” and pretty soon they’re just extensions of the US Government, per GE, GM, green energy, etc, etc.

I think big biz is packed with leftist cowards who differ from Government only in terms of their shorter lunch-times.

I think they see eye-to-eye with Chinese commies, and if the commies screwed ‘em over this time, well....I’m OK with that.

Blame the foreigners...the businessmen linked to the Chinese government won’t be touched.China is just about the most corrupt nation on earth and it’s the foreigners, who are just playing by the rules set by the locals, who are the ones to pay the price.
