Opposing sides of Trayvon Martin case plan protests in River Oaks
Houston Chronicle ^

Posted on 07/17/2013 7:48:10 PM PDT by TigerClaws

Houston community activist Quanell X plans to lead a march this weekend in the River Oaks community to protest a Florida jury's acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

The marchers won't be alone, though.

A newly organized group, G. Zimmerman River Oaks Stand Your Ground, plans to hold a counter demonstration Sunday in the tranquil, tree-lined community dotted with stately mansions, boutiques, restaurants and art galleries.

"For many years young black men from the traditional Fourth Ward were told to don't even go toward River Oaks," Quanell X said. "I can't think of a better community in Houston to (demonstrate to) bring down the pernicious image of African American men and to stop racial profiling."

Dozens of protesters marched on the U.S. Federal Courthouse and Houston City Hall on Tuesday to voice opposition to the verdict that cleared Zimmerman of wrongdoing in the Feb. 26, 2012, fatal confrontation with the unarmed teen in Florida.

Meanwhile, Houston resident Jon Smith launched G. Zimmerman River Oaks Stand Your Ground, and urged supporters on a Facebook page to rally in River Oaks on Sunday.

The group's Facebook page acknowledges the potential for violence at the rally and includes updates expressing frustration with other high-profile court cases with racial elements. The group's page prominently features a Confederate flag.

This is the same group that obstructed the grandmother from bringing her injured grandchild to the hospital and punched her. They were blocking the freeway with another 'non violent protest.'

The goober organizing the counterprotest put a confederate flag on his Facebook page? I’m sure the media is loving that.

STFU Quanell

Black folks may enter any high end neighborhood in America with little to no trouble.

I would not dare go to the hood after dark, and it has always been that way during my lifetime.

Me thinks team 0bama is orchestrating this mess, along with his media because he needed to preempt some serious 'document fraud (eligibility)' charges coming?

I mean, who could make eligibility fraud charges against 0bama at a time when his black citizen army is at a fever pitch to fight? Coincidence? I think not.

“Quanell X”
Bahahahahahahahaha! What shall we name the baby honey? How about Quanell? Yeah, that has a nice ring to it, let’s name him Quanell! Bahahahahahahahaha! There should be a reality show about how they select these names. Here’s a tip: They’re not naming them after Saints anymore! Unless, there’s a Saint Quanell out there I haven’t heard of.

Quannell X is the ultimate example of a man that will back his fellow black men no matter how wrong, immoral, or criminal they may be. In 2011, eighteen black guys, man full grown men, gang raped an eleven year old Latino girl. Quannell X held a rally for the black guys and said that the eleven year old girl led them on.

Gang rape of girl, 11, ignites firestorm in Texas community

(CNN) -- The alleged gang rape of an 11-year-old girl has torn apart a Texas community, with some focusing on the girl and her parents as much as, if not more than, the 18 people accused of sexually assaulting her.

"It is segregating our community," Brenda Myers, the head of the Community and Children's Impact Center in Cleveland, Texas, told HLN's Vinnie Politan on Monday. "There's a lot of anger, a lot of vicious remarks toward the little girl."

This month, police said 13 adults and five juveniles have been arrested related to their investigation of an alleged rape late last year in Cleveland, a community about 50 miles northeast of Houston.

Darrell Broussard, Cleveland's assistant police chief, said that the 18 individuals charged thus far are between 14 and 27 years old.

On Thursday, Quanell X, a community activist, traveled from Houston to help stage a town hall meeting called to address rising concerns -- especially in Cleveland's African-American community -- about the case.

Among other issues, he said that the girl didn't do enough to stop the alleged assailants.

"It was not the young girl that yelled rape. Stop right there -- something is wrong, brothers and sisters," Quanell X said.

And, speaking over yells of support from the crowd, he also questioned the role of the girl's parents.

"Where was the mother? Where was the father?" he said.

Soon after that event, community activist Linda Morales defended the girl.

"This was an 11-year-old child. And no matter what she did, did not do, how she dressed, how she talked, how she acted does not matter," Morales said. "This was a brutal and savage rape."

What happens if the protesters get violent and attack the counter protest?

What happens if tons of them get shot? This counter-protest sounds like it will be carrying guns.

“The group's page prominently features a Confederate flag.”

Yet another double standard. If the TP displayed a Confederate flag in or out of cyberspace, the msm would have a fit. And holder would press some trumped up charges.

"Going to a rich neighborhood to riot."

Wait until the Welfare checks bounce when the government runs out of Taxpayers to pay the bill....that's when the same thing will happen everywhere, since the inner-city tribal parasites have a "Right" to income from others, just as their past 3 generations have been doing.....

Let’s not forget 150,000 Katrina evacuees were bussed in from New Orleans.

A couple of years ago I went into a large mall in the part of town to where they were mostly evacuated.

There was a “Katrina evacuee” welfare benefits office, still there in the mall after at least five years.

There is already a man named “Meconium” Johnson by his mother.

It came about when the mother heard the term used during delivery.

Really.

I don’t think so — I don’t think it was incorportated, I think it was part of Houston.

The crime went way up, as might be expected, after the evacuees settled in.

I think most of them stayed in Houston because 1) they got benefits! and 2) they had nothing to go back to, since they had no insurance on their homes in New Orleans.

At this point I think Houston would be glad to pay for them to go back to New Orleans.

To Houston’s bleeding hearts it seemed like a good idea at the time — they had no idea.

Not Sharpstown a city, Sharpstown Mall on 59 in southwest Houston. First moved to Houston in 1985 and we shopped a lot at Sharpstown. Not any more!

I lived about 4 blocks from the Dome when we were invaded by people from NOLA. Just an absolute zoo. Volunteered one afternoon. Those people wouldn’t help prepare meals, clean up after themselves, organize activities for the kiddos or anything. The Red Cross was giving out MC and VISA gift cards to anyone putting out their hand. They were being spent on expensive jewelry and gifts for themselves from stores like Neiman instead of going to KMart and buying serviceable clothing or books and things for their children.

Houston’s Democrat mayor Houston rolled out the red carpet complete with free apartments, furniture and all the trimmings. Sheila Jackson Lee’s new constituents.

So there was a method to their madness.

Your observations pretty much reinforce what I witnessed my various times there.
