Poor Greg Abbott. You have to feel for the guy. For months no one knew what state office he was campaigning for. He politely waits around for the govnor to make his retirement announcement.
Finally, the big moment comes this past Sunday and no one is paying attention. George Zimmermans acquittal sucks all of the oxygen out of the 24 hours news cycle and steals the show.
I just announced I am running for Governor. I will work for your vote and fight for your liberty. #txlege #txgop #tcot #NRA

Ted Cruz was there. Well, his statement.
Republican Tom Pauken has been in the race since March of this year. Not too many noticed. Hes not well known.
Tom Pauken says he is fighting for the soul of the Republican Party.
Sunday, Greg Abbotts campaign passed out yellow fans that read fast cars, firearms, and freedom, its a Texas thing.
Whatever the hell that means.
Tom Pauken has gravitas.

You're right, talking about Rove's 'Annointed One' (the Perry Clone) is certainly more important to talk about than about whatever is happening in the Asia-Pacific region.
Greg Abbott is probably one of the best politicians out there. Anyone who has heard or seen him on FOX knows that.
Looks like power outages...
Awesome Duel-Monsters games...
And all manner of strangeness.
Here we go. More fratricide from the kook anti-perry wing of the GOP. I’m suffering so much here in Texas under Perry...I can’t take it. /sarc
I don't think you're winning any converts by attacking a good man in Abbott (especially with your fake Rove association). We are way too early in the process for deciding on the number and format of debates, and even considering who else might be running.
I faintly remember Pauken from the 96 Texas State GOP Convention and I didn't care for some of his actions then. You are going to have to show that Pauken is worth voting for rather than attacking the opposition.
Paukin is not well-known, the article says??
Paukin has been around for years in various political jobs, running repeatedly, without success. Lord help us if he were to get the nomination and the Dems put up a viable candidate.
