We are evolving into a totalitarian state. I was recently in a catastrophic flood, and during the whole disaster, we kept looking at the rising water and saying, “No, the water can’t get any higher than this.” This news story is working on me in the same manner. Every time I see something like this, there’s a little part of me saying, “No, this is as bad as it’ll get.”

However, after watching my entire town get wrecked, I understanding that it can, indeed, get much worse. The interesting aspect is that unlike other cultures and countries, we’re slowly creating totalitarianism bit by bit, and even more weird, mostly volunteering for it.

God help us.

She’s from New York so there’s a 90% chance she voted for Obama, so tough luck lady. You are getting exactly what you voted for.

The law/act creating the TSA was developed by a Republican and Democrat, and signed into law by a Republican President. Don't take your eyes off the fact that both parties are responsible, because if we somehow have another Republican in the WH, it would be all too easy for him/her to do nothing about this.

“Do we HAVE a Constitution anymore?!”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Sure we do but like the old Gravely walk behind convertible tractor sitting under my shed it has not been relied on in decades.

People used to tell me this’ll never happen, that’ll never happen, we have a constitution. I don’t hear that any more, even the slow witted are realizing that a constitution is no better than the citizens who are governed by it. We don’t measure up to our constitution any longer, we have allowed the most corrupt criminals in the land to take over the government, honest people are hounded by the criminal government while the real criminals make fortunes.

It is amzing that we still sing The Star Spangled Banner in this country, the “land of the free” exists only in memory now. The founders would be disgusted with us.

A document, used for the basis of gov’t, that is no longer followed is then useless....anarchy.

I’m with you there. We are no longer the ‘Land of the Free’; it was stripped away with the last War (on Terror).

Question becomes, IMHO, what Laws, and why, should we follow?

Natural law or God’s law if you prefer. Anyone who is not mentally ill knows what is right and what is wrong. We must return to the basics, some people rant about what is a “basic human right” and conclude that health care, for instance is a basic human right. My rule is simple, if it REALLY is a basic human right it is one that you could exercise if you were alone on the Earth, if it requires the presence of another human being on the planet it is NOT a basic human right.

For liberals further explanation may be needed, it is simple, you DO NOT have the right to demand that your fellow human beings provide anything for you against their will. If you think you do you are mentally ill! The fact that we share the same planet does not give you any claim on my time or effort.

Ummmm..isn’t the Constitution based on the same? We already see how THAT is ‘followed’

And good luck with instructing the Libs on Rights, even here I’ve had enough battles. It’s always been the ‘gored ox’ syndrome, or the NIMBY (try prying the SS/Medicare check from some geezers fingers...or telling ‘em it’s coming out of their g-kids piggy-bank)

Yes, we are in a situation that has taken decades to create and there is no quick solution of any kind. The future looks grim indeed.
