DETROIT (AP) -- Detroit has become the largest city in U.S. history to file for bankruptcy.

State-appointed emergency manager Kevyn Orr on Thursday asked a federal judge permission to place the city into Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection.

As I've said in most of these threads:

1. Dis-incorporate Detroit.
2. Sell off the city's assets to satisfy its bondholders and other creditors.
3. Incorporate new and more viable communities within Wayne County from the former Detroit.

It's that easy.

I agree completely. There’s nobody in that family that I would want to be remotely associated with. Then again, there’s no way that I’d ever be running a pawn shop in Detroit even if it was near a casino.

I’m waiting for somebody to smack his punk ass son. Granted, the clientele leaves a lot to be desired, but the attitude... hell, I’d like to smack him.

Funny thing is that at least two of the cars in that picture are built in Canada.
