(Winston-Salem Journal) — Student government associations from 11 of the 17 schools in the University of North Carolina system announced their opposition Wednesday morning to House Bill 937 in a proclamation sent to members of the N.C. General Assembly.
The bill, which would allow concealed-carry permit holders to keep firearms in locked vehicles on college campuses, is currently in conference committee.
The proclamation was signed by the student body presidents at Appalachian State University, East Carolina University, North Carolina Central University, UNC Asheville, UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, UNC Pembroke, UNC School of the Arts, Winston-Salem State University and North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.
Additionally, Robert Nunnery, president of the UNC system Association of Student Governments, also signed....

So what do student body presidents know? Do they represent the student body? I doubt it. Most of the young people in NC are down to earth and good people. Student body presidents generally suffer from exaggerated egos. And believe anything they are told.
The “Whiners” believe that the State (in this case NC) is a jealous God and shall have no other gods before it, and that no one has the right to protect themselves, but must beg State, the God, for protection.
As a life member of Grass Roots N.C. let me be the first to say to all the student body sheep..Go suck your thumb and hide so the bad old guns won’t scare your poor little marxist buddies in the institutes of lower learning you populate.

Anyone of these fools remember the University of Virginia shooting, where students ran to their cars, got their guns and stopped a potential massacre of students by a gunman on campus???

Most Student Body Presidents are just practicing to run for higher office, probably after law school.
These student body presidents seem happy to become student bodies.

Seems to me that a college, or any business, that bans guns on their premises should have the authority to extend that to cars on their property - provided that they provide convenient secure storage alternatives for permit holders’ legally carried firearms.
you could pass a law making it illegal for criminals to commit crimes on the property.....oh, WAIT... that is already illegal.
We have two kids at NC State and are very happy to see they are not on the list of whiners.
Universities keep turning out more enemies than they do allies.
