Vanderbilt University Medical Center to cut 1,000 jobs - good freaking grief!

Vanderbilt University Medical Center plans to cut its workforce by more than 1,000 employees within the next two years, The Tennessean reports, citing people familiar with the center's plans.

Some of the cuts are expected to come by offering early retirement options.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is targeting $250 million in budget savings over the same time period, or about 8 percent of current expenses, according to The Tennessean.

"It is clear that we must embark on a comprehensive effort that is immediate, achievable, proactive and ensures success over a multiyear period, while the health care and biomedical science economies we live in reshuffle into a 'new normal,' " Vice Chancellor of Health Affairs Dr. Jeff Balser said in a memo to staff, according to The Tennessean.

Modern immigrants/visitors from Africa are often spiritually and intellectually many cuts above the slave-ancestor Negro crowd. Well, at the risk of being very un-PC, it must be stated that importing kidnapped slaves was a curse and invited demons, and and on top of it remember that these guys were the losers in the inter-tribal battles that served them up to slave ships as POWs. Had early America been prescient enough to ban this sort of slavery (I don’t mean indentured servitude, but the kind where the person was owned involuntarily all their life, and that for no wrongdoing on their part) we might not be in the pickle we are subject to today.

Summed up...we oughta have picked our own cotton...

Hospitals all over the country have been laying off by the dozens the last two or three years, but these megalayoffs are the start of a new chapter. St Vincent’s Healthcare System in Indiana is going to furlough about 900.

I’ve been saying that for around 20 years. I was part owner of a consulting business, so I really saw the full impact of tax withholdings on that side. And my wife was doing 1099 work rotating among 3-4 companies at various times of the year, so we were making quarterly estimated tax payments on her income.

Between those two things, it really made an impact on how much was going to the FedGov that you just don’t get with payroll withholding.

It is my belief that if there were no payroll withholding, and everyone had to make quarterly estimated payments, we would see a tax revolt.

The folks that actually write the check to US Treasury know what you’re talking about.

sadly however, there is another fly in the soup....blacks were flourishing after the civil war, into the early parts of the 20 th century...families together, education, religious...

there has been a deterioration in their culture and it has resulted in deterioration of their intellect as well...its a downward spiral...

maybe it was the LBJ enslavement mentality that did it...
