Skip to comments. No expense spared! Ferraris and Bentleys are hired by TEENAGERS in deprived London borough.

It is one of Britain's poorest boroughs, with almost unmatched levels of deprivation and where at least one in ten are unemployed.
But teenagers in Tower Hamlets have tried to shrug-off this economically-tough climate and spared no expense in hiring many expensive supercars, which often cost more to buy than homes in the area.
These Lamborghinis, Ferraris and even Bentleys on the gritty streets of East London were rented by 16-year-olds to celebrate leaving school, and they proudly admit it's all about 'showing off' and getting time in the 'spotlight'.
The vehicles can cost up to £300,000 to buy, yet one bedroom flats in some parts of the borough are worth as little as £70,000.

sure beats a camel
Somehow I don’t think there’s a lot of guys named “Nigel” in that crowd.
London has, uh.... changed since the last time i was there.
I wonder how much of this is paid with public assistance funds?
It’s amazing how much the white sports car in those photos looks like my 25k scion.
but tailpipe may burn
I went to see Brigitte Gabriel give a talk recently (authority on Islam’s attempts to take over the west by co-opting our institutions) and she said:
“If you are planning to visit Europe, be warned: It is not the Europe of your parents or grandparents. It is Eurabia. And it is happening here in the USA.”
In the words of Celine Dion... “Let them touch those things for once.”
Maybe Celine will sing for them too?
Blech. Just pure ghetto affluenza. Dealt with this crap at my own blue collar high school in the 80’s. Losers who will amount to nothing wanting to roll gangsta in one big moment of glory before they get on the welfare rolls.
They’re not buying these cars. Just renting them for one day. This is pretty typical for prom, even in somewhat poor areas.
I’m actually happy to see these kids going out and socializing with girls. In fundamentalist Islam, the girls would not see the light of day except for maybe her father/husband’s back yard. Most of the violence in Islam is the result of a few rich men imprisoning all women for themselves. Islam revolves around this type of slavery.
Except for the head coverings on the girls, they all look very “western” and that’s a good thing.
Having just returned, I can attest to that. London in some places looked like downtown Tehran.
I hadn’t realized there were so many amish teenagers
Eh, if four or five of them want to split the cost of renting one and they want to waste their money, more power to them...although I don’t understand how the rental companies even let them do the renting. It’s sheer hell to rent even a piece of junk car here in the States if you’re under 25 with a job and good credit, much less a group of Tower Hamlets 16-year-old Ali G-wannabes trying to rent a Maybach 62 or a Bentley or a Ferrari TT.
That’s a Ferrari TT. The front end is gorgeous, but in order to make it a four-seater they grafted that hideous Jennifer Lopez backside on it. Not one of Ferrari’s finer design moments IMO.
not sure how to take that
But then they become this...
Ain’t “cultural enrichment” just grand?
“They see me rollin’, they hatin’”
It’s probably got more ponies than mine, too.
Who in their right mind would rent a £300,000 car to a 16 year old?
I thought this was in Britain...
I thought this was in Britain...
Downtown Karachi, more like it.
The dumpster in the background in the second picture is a nice touch.
In some sense this shows they are the type of kids with western values who will at least save and maybe work and spend to get the things they want.
My bad...it’s not called the Ferrari TT, it’s called the Ferrari FF. 651 horsepower, all-wheel drive.
My bad...its not called the Ferrari TT, its called the Ferrari FF. 651 horsepower, all-wheel drive.
My Scion only has 200 hp, but it’s also only 1950 lbs. It’s like driving a go-cart.
YIKES! You were right about the back end.
I don’t like the front either. It’s got that stupid Mazda open mouthed smile.
Nice break for the kids after all that calculus and advanced physics.
The only encouraging photo I saw was one that showed behavior that by Middle Eastern values could be considered, “female immodesty”.
Do you think that the wealthy in the Middle East *dislike* supercars and instead opt for very fancy camels...?
Do you think then when they can afford such vehicles they do NOT lord them over others...? They do, they absolutely do.
Mostly what I see here is the possibility that poor invaders are setting for a verrrry temporary simulacrum of wealth. They are failing to make long-term sacrifices towards the goal of building lasting wealth which would help a large and stable middle-class with values that are British, or more generally Western.
Do you want to owe, or do you want to OWN? These people will probably make the wrong choice, and British social largesse is as we see here enabling that wrong choice.
We see here a weird distortion provided by the viable welfare state provided by Western goverments —do you know who goes in for 2 or 3 wives in the Middle East? Very rich people.
Yet in Germany and England a FAR higher percent of poor Muslim immigrant men can opt for multiple wives than truely”rich” Muslim men back in the Old Country —why?
Because **Rupert and Fritz are the ones paying for the wives**, who as far as the law is concerned in those countries are concerned are STILL SINGLE.
Bottom line: Honest middle-class Europeans are being forced by their governments to finance the frivolty of invaders.
I wonder if they use it to go to their JOB??
“Im actually happy to see these kids going out and socializing with girls. “
Just going out to rape western girls and beat-up non-muslimes.
£70,000 is $106,821.32 which might be a little steep for a 1-bedroom in most parts of the US.
This is a textbook illustration of the kind of thinking that shows, "why poor people stay poor".
I’ll just say that it’s SOP for the DailyMail (and other tabloids - not limited to the UK) to throw out some high-price numbers in their articles with the sole intent to sensationalize an otherwise not particularly newsworthy topic.
1. You are wrong to call these people invaders as they are legal. Illegal immigration is much harder in Europe than in the US.
2. Idle rich buying high end cars helps the economy a bit. Lower income children aspiring to high end cars is even better if they seek to acquire them via work rather than taking from others. So your wealthy from the Middle East analogy is off base.
3. Point 2 is the issue of course, but then again do you really blame people for taking in a society that gives and makes earning difficult?
Aspiring to things is an important value to have. It is an important value for societal and economic progress. It is not the end all. It needs to be focused in a productive way by the market, but it is a start.
I’ll bet. One thing that blew me away was when Brigitte Gabriel said there are dozens of Shariah Law courts (independent of English law) in the UK, and in France, there are upwards of 800 “no-go” zones where French police are not allowed to enter!
You made the point that when poor M.E. people show a penchant for such cars, this is provides an indicator they’ll later make positive contributions to British commerce:
Reversing the logic, does it mean that the absence of car-centric grad celebrations in rich, native-born areas in Britain indicates the young people there will grow up to be DRAINS on commerce, sucking up welfare...?
It is not a matter of cars, but an interest in any products. Different people can have different tastes. Also different people can have different motivations. I would just say that poor kids interested in something rich might indicate more of a desire to work and earn them than poor kids say having babies at 16 to get a government check.
