The burning heart of liberal activism and indignation this summer can be found, of all places, in the charming capital city of the Tar Heel State. On Monday, for the 11th week in a row, thousands of protesters descended on the copper-domed Capitol denouncing the policies of a Republican Party that for the first time since Reconstruction controls North Carolina´s governorship and legislature. Some 800 agitators have been arrested for disrupting the legislature. By all accounts, these "Moral Monday" rallies, though peaceful, are growing in size and volume. The rallies have caught the eye of the national media,

Yes, we in Wisconsin saw how enraged liberals get when you move their food bowl. We had ugly and abusive behavior last year when they tried to recall Gov. Scott Walker and roll back the bill that took the unions out of government (Act 10).
Keep the faith N.C. and you will save millions and millions in wasteful spending of your taxes.
My wife’s neice lives there. It is a nice area, occupansies and other useful idiots notwithstanding.
True. You know how moss grows on the South side of Cypress Trees in the Southern states? Here moss grows on all sides of the Cypress and covers the entire tree.
We learn by necessity how to walk between rain drops so we don’t get wet. If you ever see a news cast of Seattle pedestrian’s in the rain only the newcomers use umbrella’s...seriously, watch for it.
Actually, that’s what the weather here in my neck of the woods today, an hour north of Tampa has been. A steady light rain with very little thunder. Unusual this time of year in FL. We’ll normally get heavy downpours for a short while then they move out as quickly as they appear.
Tampa is the only city to be near in Florida this time of year if I recall. South, no, east, no too and the west side cooks in the summer too!

I don’t know about the entire state, but the Asheville area seems weird to me.
A lot of the folks in Asheville are Floridians on vacation, going to the nearest place that isn’t blazing hot in the summer. You can tell who they are because they don’t know how to drive in the mountains. My family used to have a time-share in Asheville, when we lived in Orlando.
Because the liberals forget tha North Carolina is a red or conservative state.
Yes...and I’d include the ones from Virginia in that category.
The other day I came out of the grocery store to find some truck parked facing my car, and touching the bumper. I was bending over and looking to see if any damage was done when the guy who owned the truck came out. Man, did he have a belligerent attitude, and a New Yawk accent. He wanted to know what I was looking at, and when I told him, said, “I didn’t hurt your damn car, now shut the f-— up.”
Something tells me he was an Obama voter.
"Mostly, however, these protests are about money. The Civitas Institute, a conservative think tank in North Carolina, recently published an analysis of the financial statements of the left-wing groups sponsoring these rallies, such as the Community Development Initiative and the Institute of Minority Economic Development. It found they have collected about $100 million in state grants, loans and contracts. No wonder they're enraged over GOP lawmakers' attempts to rein in spending."
OK, if a relatively small and poor State gives the Left $100 a year (certainly underestimated as lard is hidden throughout the budget), how much money does the Left get from DC.
The GOP held the Presidency, Senate and House, if they were a serious Party and not a bunch of benchwarmers, they would have defunded the Left. But nooooooooooo! Can't do that, you get them mad and we don't want to be divisive and it's so much more comfortable sitting here on our cushy benches.
Then the GOP spends money, sends me letters asking for money. I send it back, with the comment, you make me pay taxes to fund mine (and your presumably) political opponents and them ask me for money. Defund the Left and you won't need the money or find it hard to raise.
I don’t think the GOP is serious about anything except holding on to personal power—with the exception of a very few individuals such as Ted Cruz. I believe his principles are intact, and I hope and pray they stay that way. Boehner and company are soft, gutless, go-along-to-get-along types. They’re scared to death of seeming racist or insensitive....they’re selling us out, and helping to guarantee a permanent Dem majority even faster than demographics would have brought it about.
The Republican party finally stopped begging me for money. I had a piece of joke money, a million dollar bill with Obama’s face on the front. I put it into the envelope and mailed it to them, and I haven’t heard from them since.
There is a lot of positive growth in NC. If these losers can’t find work here, then they are lost forever. They don’t want to work. My 13 year old son went out a couple months ago and picked summer work around the neighborhood. It was easy.

Aren’t there a lot of “half-backs” in NC also?
(People who moved NY to FLA, hated FLA and moved HALF way BACK == “half-back”.)
Cause someone hit liberals with an ugly stick?
Wish I coulda been there
I had a guy back into my Tahoe a month ago and he was just about that angry. He caused the damage to my truck nothing to his. He did have insurance and I did get the damage fixed but right after it happened while we were exchanging insurance I was afraid he was going to explode.
If I had been alone instead of with my husband who had just come out of the gun store, there is no telling what this SOB would have done.
He moved south and bought a pickup, a good sign, but can’t park the thing without collateral damage and hasn’t lost the attitude yet, might never, bad sign.
Probably grew up watching “tap parking” in NYC, figured that’s what bumpers are for, that’s just the way it’s done, and didn’t get a driver’s license until well into adulthood.
He’d smack a brick wall with that truck if his GPS told him to, he’s that bewildered by the whole sense of direction behind the wheel thing, making NC native females look like wilderness scouts by comparison.
Understand this, and you might see at least a little humor in it. You’ve got to laugh, because they just keep coming.
Welcome to North South Florida, lol. They survived, I guess we will too.
