If Detroilet gets a bailout, just watch all the other liberal hellholes line up to get theirs too. Bad, bad precedent.

Reader Teddi got this right:

I admire the way Rand gets right in Obama's face most of the time on these issues - its the only way to deal with him...

This is a REPEAT performance of what occurred with the bank bailouts.

Only this time around it would be "city/state bailouts."

A VERY BAD idea.

My favorite public employee is the President of the School Board in Detroit.

He is illiterate. A sexual predator that masturbates in front of women in official meetings.

The school board had to pay $650,000.00 to the lady who witnessed that.

Yet, he kept his job... eventually, under pressure, he resigned - but then tried to withdraw his resignation saying it was all a big 'misunderstanding'.

Now he heads something called "Citizens with challenges". You see, he is not stupid, he just faces challenges - like not being able to read and write, not being able to keep his privates zipped in his pants...

Um...Obama isn't bailing out Detroit. We taxpayers are. Obama is very generous with our money.

I seem to remember back in the '70's NYC either filed for bankruptcy or was close. I also seem to remember them getting bailed out, or was floated a loan to recover.

Afraid the precedent has already been set. Problem is that money should be used to doze the dump, instead of a recovery try.

Hmmm, so we’ve got the convicted liar, the spitter, and Calypso Louis along with Miss Crissy and the Woman on Piers 69 agitating for race riots in the wake of the St. Traydmark verdict. If they can’t get the job done, or if Obergruppen Fuehrer Holder decides there isn’t a way to justify the crucifiction of George Zimmerman, there is always a parallel or fall back position. Start bailing out africanhyphenamerican mini Zinmbabwes and really anger the few remaining taxpayers so the s#it hits the fan.

Vanilla Boy Rick Gran...er, uh, Snyder may try to get out Michigan taxpayer’s wallets to try to stanch the flow, but that probably won’t be enough to please his master Maobama. But Vanilla Boy’s NOT TEA Party sycophants can take comfort in knowing the fix was mostly in.

Rand shouldn’t be encouraging Obama.

Whatever happened to “the Sequester?” I thought the US was out of cash. Apparently the cash shortage doesn’t apply to hair brained leftist schemes, travel expenses and third world bribes and friendship dues.

He’ll bail them out and every R will sign the approval. It’s about time the Rs admitted we have a one party system.

Rand Paul: Obama will bail out Detroit 'over my dead body'

Please don't give the chi-town street punk, or the klintons any ideas!

His truth will be heard or he will lose Michigan.

My guess would be that democratic Michigan will spurn Rand Paul.

At the same time, I think the entire idea of bankruptcy is both realistic and terribly unfair. Realistic in that someone who’s broke is broke. You can’t get blood from a turnip.

On the other hand, contracts with vendors, businesses, individuals, and even employees are still contracts, and it’s the contract hold who pays the price and not those who entered into them in bad faith...my sense is that Detroit knew it was acting stupidly. I’d feel better if they jailed all the leaders of Detroit from the last 2 decades.

(nothing)

“...bailing them out over my dead body...”

I’m sure Odinga could arrange that....just like he did in Benghazi.

“Bankruptcy lets you be forgiven of your debt.”

I’d hate to be one who holds that debt. It’s the
renegotiation of union contracts and retirement that they
are trying to avoid.

A lot of conservative laugh at the blue cities and states that are going bankrupt. What they don’t realize is that the administration will bail out all of them with the nations tax dollars.
