Was Israel’s Latest ‘Air’ Attack on Syria from a Submarine?
Weekly Standard ^ | July 20, 2013 | By Tom Gross

Posted on 07/21/2013 7:04:34 AM PDT by Brad from Tennessee

An attack two weeks ago that destroyed an advanced Russian missile shipment delivered to Syria’s Assad regime should also serve as a warning to Iran – and to those complacent Western diplomats who have (dangerously in my view) reconciled themselves to the idea of allowing Iran to go nuclear and then trying to contain it. For it seems that the July 5 attack on an arms depot near the Syrian naval base of Latakia, which has been attributed to Israel, came not from the air (as CNN and the New York Times reported last weekend) but from under the water.

Many Western officials who have apparently concluded that Israel could only destroy Iran’s nuclear program from the air – and that Israel does not have the capability to carry out such long-range air strikes in a decisive way – should take note. In recent years, Israel has greatly advanced its sea-based capabilities, and the geographical range of operations that Israel can mount from the sea, I am reliably told, now spans the entire globe. Israeli submarines are no longer confining themselves to the Mediterranean.

Last Saturday, the United States appeared to confirm that Israel was behind the July 5 attack on 50 Russian Yakhont anti-ship missiles in Latakia. Both the New York Times and CNN quoted unnamed U.S. officials as saying the strike was carried out by Israel from the air. The state-of-the-art Yakhont missiles have a range of 300 kilometers and are considered to be among the best of their kind in the world – for example, they can evade radar by flying just above water surface. . .

The Muslim Brotherhood land slide, that we are feeding with weapons from Libya. Seems when we got a Muslim for a president, we switched sides and became joined at the hip with Al Queda.
Circumstantial evidence indicates we have traitors at the helm. Our present scofflaw Attorney general’s refusal to answer to Congressional Hearings is criminal in itself, but is serving to keep that evidence circumstantial.

At this point, the tide is turning from an impeachment to a trial for Treason. Instead of “resigning” for a fat pension, Holder is shifting slowly past loosing his pension to loosing his freedom in prison.

What would make him so reluctant to answer simple questions at this point? Something far more dangerous that simply loosing his freedom.

What’s the news about Egypt and the rebellion? Media is covering a dead kid’s memorial more than any more important issues.

SO: Egypt is Chaos. Syria is in Civil War. And Iran is soon to be bombed by Israel. What will all that do to oil prices? Hehehe. You see, I work for an oil company.

Other theories are that the Israeli AF launched the raid from Turkey and loss 1 F-16 to a Sam. The Israeli/Turk intervention will not be well rec’d in Moscow. Israel better watch out tweaking the Bear w/ the US in the grip of the Muslim Brothers!

But first, send the U.N. packing there!

U.N. out of U.S., U.S. out of U.N.!

Yeah, have to agree, Try and Hang is what would be just.

But I think we have gone past Justice in this judiciary. I fear for my Country. Marxists always cause a lot of death and destruction.

Marx, rejected God, that is what he was all about, and ultimately that is what Marxism is, Atheism raised to government.

“According to our president oil is a “fuel of the past.”

The US has PLENTY of crude oil and natural gas to last for the rest of our lives AND our children’s lives, so the idea of a fuel shortage is incorrect. Shale oil and shale gas reserves will soon make the US the worlds largest oil producer, passing Saudi Arabia and Russia, in the next 5 to 7 years.
