Yeah. Her health is on again and off again for a long time. It is said to have deteriorated further in a last couple of years. She may not last long. She could be gone this year. That means a linchpin holding various factions in N. Korea regime disappears, heralding more turmoil

If she holds on a bit longer, he may garner enough backing, power & experience to weather the turmoil.

I agree that they will go to great lengths to keep her alive. Just like Chia Head's last days. Chia Head died before he was able to complete laying out a firm ground for smooth succession to his son. If Jong-eun’s aunt also passes away prematurely, he would be in real bad luck. It seems that his past record of accomplishment is sparse. Most of them backfired, woefully misguided. Events are not cooperating, either.

Some speculate that the aunt is the reason that Kim Jong Eun is retaining power. Once she goes, the military chiefs might think they can depose him.

I spent a year in Korea, but I never learned how to read the language.

It would have been nice if the artical was written in English.

Yes, it would be nice, but at least we have this much information for which I am grateful. Not my intent to take a shot at you, but I suspect we have enough information to at least know what is going on thanks to TLR.

I’m trying to learn the language but it isn’t all that easy.

Wish I had a pic here, TLR.
