The DeLand gun shop owner who offered George Zimmerman a free handgun to replace the one being held as evidence by the Department of Justice said he is now receiving death threats.
Pat Johnson, who is president of Pompano Pat's, told the News-Journal on Sunday that "the violence needs to end" and that his offer to give Zimmerman a replacement Kel-Tec PF-9 is neither racially nor politically motivated. Nor, Johnson said, is it a publicity stunt. But a local religious leader said the offer is only ramping up tension.
The offer was made after Johnson said he heard media reports that federal authorities were holding Zimmerman's gun pending further investigation.
"This is so he (Zimmerman) can protect himself," Johnson said. "Regardless of what side you are on, he was found not guilty and he has the right to live his life."
Johnson, in the letter he sent Thursday to attorney Mark O'Mara, said, "We have read numerous reports of death threats against your client and believe no good would come from harming him." Johnson said he has not heard back from O'Mara.
But Daytona Beach Rev. L. Ronald Durham, pastor of the Greater Friendship Baptist Church, said the offer is inciting racism rather than quelling it....

The reasons may only be known to them, but they are easy to ascertain. The models have been out there for decades. How about 12 Angry Men? How about the stupid mockingbird book and movie, whatever their titles that escape me now? Worshipped everywhere including here. The Zimmerman case fits these long standardized frames of lazy thinking like a Nike AirJordan sneaker fits a homie's foot!

The guy wrote a letter to Zimmerman’s lawyer because he wanted to be sure George was legally allowed to get a new gun. You should read that letter.
“Upon receiving your confirmation that he is well within his legal rights to concealed carry, our company would like to offer Mr. Zimmerman a free firearm,” the letter stated according to WKMG. “We currently have the same model in stock, or he could [choose] another weapon suitable for concealed carry.”
“We have read numerous reports of death threats against your client and believe no good would come from harming him,” said the letter, signed by Pompano Pats President Pat Johnson, who added that the company was not trying to make a political statement.

I am from this same area and I just heard on the radio that a woman with a phone number one digit off from Zimmerman’s has been getting 100s of death threats on her number. When she contacted the FBI they said there were over 400 social media threats PER MINUTE against Zimmerman and she wasn’t a priority!! The poor guy is ground zero for death threats. BO is literally contributing to GZ’s potential murder from one of these nuts
Why do you think the pastor cares who started the fight? This is a fight in this nations cultural cold war that has the very ugly possibility of going from cold to hot. Unfortunately a great many folks still think that politicians will actually give a damn if they don’t have a chance to skim money off of any new govt programs or get face time on camera even if it leads to blood in the streets.

So? He's not allowed to say anything? He's not allowed to voice his support, and earn the support of his local community by offering Zimmerman a gun? Are we all just supposed to shut-up and cower in fear instead of voicing our support in like manner?
I think that is intentional. First GZ will be murdered, then there will be a real or staged violent response by a white person somewhere in the world. That event will be massively overpublicized by the MSM. Next will come the exploitation of the supposed "crisis" by Obama & Holder.
