The Obama appointee implicated in congressional testimony in the IRS targeting scandal met with President Obama in the White House two days before offering his colleagues a new set of advice on how to scrutinize tea party and conservative groups applying for tax-exempt status.
IRS chief counsel William Wilkins, who was named in House Oversight testimony by retiring IRS agent Carter Hull as one of his supervisors in the improper targeting of conservative groups, met with Obama in the Roosevelt Room of the White House on April 23, 2012. Wilkins boss, then-IRS commissioner Douglas Shulman, met with Obama on April 24, 2012, according to White House visitor logs.

To bad Nixon didn’t get to see the Obama show he would be smiling.
Doesn’t matter when there’s a media blackout
I smell smoke coming out of the gun.
“The White House did not return a request for comment.”
Who’s gonna be the modern day Woodward and Bernstein?
"Wilkins meeting with Obama on April 23 was attended by 13 people."
Does anyone believe that the subject of extra scrutiny of Tea Party applications would come up at a meeting attended by Obama and 13 others?
A Smoking Gun? I don't think so. But then again, it would be nice to hear what the 13 attendees have to say in private sessions with Trey Gowdy.
Time for some clever Freeper to dig up that Attendees List. Maybe it was Wilkins, Lerner, Biden, Dragon Lady, ...
Is the Daily Caller the only place this story exists?

The most recent one to try and be a Woodward or Berstein died in a firey car incident in LA. The engine and transmission of his Mecedes were blown 100 yards away from the car which burnted up. FBI were immediately on the scene ... to make sure the incident ended his try at being a Woodward or Berstein?
This assumes he wrote it instantaneously. I personally suspect he wrote a draft or three over the course of the two days after he met with the one. Two days would be about right to get it all polished up after he got his marching orders.
It’s really time to stop asking that question. I’s time to stop being befuddled by the GOPe. The government is our enemy. The GOP is part of the government. There’s no reason to think that they’ll do anything other than what they’re doing. Individual members who are on our side will be put in place or replaced by the GOPe.
Maggie any luck accessing the logs to find all participants?

Actually I would consider it very, very significant if Lois Lerner were at that meeting.
Little gal is up there to get away from those mean Peacocks.
I lived in Nashville for four years - anyone who ever tried to drive around that town has my condolences.
“Well, even a coincidental meeting can result in an exchange of information.
NOTE: Heres something of interest: When Dick worked in the Clinton White House, the Roosevelt Room was the only room where political activity could take place in the West Wing. We have no way of knowing of that is the case now.
These queries will undoubtedly be central to the next exciting episode of the Darrell Issa Show as the California Congressman seeks to penetrate the veil of deception and misdirection with which the Administration has cloaked the IRS scandal.
Before one could get to Nixon, one had to find G. Gordon Liddy and Chuck Colson behind the Watergate burglars. Before we can get to Obama, we needed to find William Wilkins. And now we might have the next G. Gordon Liddy.
Breaking news soon: "The President will be holding a press conference art 2:00pm today. It is expected he will be discussing his plans for reparations."
