The Heritage Foundation has tracked post-9/11 terrorist plots against the United States in an effort to study the evolving nature of the threat and to garner lessons learned. The best way to protect the United States from terrorism is to ensure a strong and capable domestic counterterrorism enterpriseand to understand the continuing nature of the terror threat. The Boston Marathon bombing was the 59th publicly known terror plot against the United States since 9/11. In a political environment of sequestration on the one hand, and privacy concerns on the other, there are those on both sides of the aisle who want to cut counterterrorism spending and restrict the scope of U.S. intelligence agencies. But the long war on terrorism is far from over. Most disturbingly, an increasing number of Islamist-inspired terrorist attacks are originating within Americas borders. The rise of homegrown extremism is the next front in the fight against terrorism, and Congress and the Administration must take it seriously. This Special Report features up-to-date information on all 60 plots, and the authors describe a plan for a comprehensive homeland security strategy.

How many under Bush and how many under Obama ?
The paper provides the dates. If someone wants to do the legwork, the info is there.
As I’m approaching the beginning of my fifth decade of life, I find myself becoming more and more cynical about the federal government. Or, perhaps I am becoming more and more realistic about it. I just cannot shake the feeling that the REAL reasons behind “anti terror measures” are to protect the power elite from the common, every day citizens of our once-great country.
It’s not going to end pretty, that’s for sure. Or perhaps “we” (Freepers excluded, of course) have become slowly boiled frogs and “we” don’t really care any longer.
You know, I read that most of the foiled attacks were basically entrapment where homeland security provided the radicalization and ultimately the gear (i.e. fake bomb). Not all, but most.
I just cannot shake the feeling that the REAL reasons behind anti terror measures are to protect the power elite from the common, every day citizens of our once-great country.
Because that's EXACTLY what their efforts are for. If you accept that, nearly 100% of what the legislators do makes perfect sense. Nearly EVERY politician is in there merely to get what they can before the wheels fall off. They could give two rats asses about the citizenry, particularly because close to the majority of voters will keep sending their worthless dog excrement eating asses back to office.
The only seriously impactful things we can do is pay off debt and vote for ANYONE who isn't an incumbant/career politico...
This is the cost of trying to ignore a war like trying to ignore a debt. Muslims radicals will not just go away out of boredom. You must make them go away out of fear.
The only path to peace is victory. Not nation building, nation breaking.
Reading the names and details of the operations it appears over 90% are from Muslim oriented backgrounds or ideology. The article does not define “American citizen”, or break it down to citizen by birth or naturalized or green card.
