The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's newborn son will 'suck the blood' of Russia in the mid-21st century and should therefore not be celebrated, a controversial Russian politician declared today. Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of the nationalist Liberal Democrat Party, declared 'I don't care about the heir' before accusing the British monarchy of 'destroying our state'. The outspoken politician made his attention-grabbing comments in an interview with the state-run newspaper Rio Novosti.

The only money British royals “bring in” is merchandising, like a rock band. And really there’s no reason they couldn’t still be doing that, rock bands do. But if they were cut lose then the people wouldn’t be providing them with all the land, and security, they’d have to buy it themselves. Then we’d find out how much money they really bring in.

Our “royal families” generate lots of revenue, because they’re mostly movie stars. Our royal families are the Houstons and the Barrymores and the Sheens. While ours probably aren’t any smarter than theirs at least our buy their own houses and pay their own security.

I didn’t say that you should be ruled by one or care. But calling someone “anti-American” for praying for the safety and health of someone like Queen Elizabeth, Pope Francis, Prince Albert or King Wilhelm-Alexander, is just beyond silly.

All you Brit appeasers on Free Republic need a lesson on global economics and the soap opera financier antics of the City of London. There are books on the subject, most of them on Amazon. Ignorance is no excuse in the electronic era. I’d suggest that Freepers of all points on the compass peruse the valuable contents of this web site:

During the War for Independence from Great Britain, John Adams was at the top of King George, iii’s list of traitors to be hung, drawn and quartered. After the war, John Adams was made the first U.S. ambassador to Great Britain. And he, his wife, Abigail and their children took great effort to dress grandly for their presentation to the King and Queen at the Court of St. James. The meeting itself took much less time then it took each of the Adams to prepare themselves to meet their former sovereigns.

I never said that, I said that some pray for a King, we have monarchists her at FR, you can see them show up in the religion section at times, calling for a Monarch, or for America or the world to be ruled by their denomination.

Why pester me, or any American with your proMonarchy whining?

Why Russia?

Because he's still mad about what happened to great-great-great-uncle Nicky.

Edward the IV is said to be a bastard son of an archer, not a Tudor descendant of the then Duke of York. Edward's supposed father Richard of York was nowhere around his mother at the “back calculated time of conception” July through August 1441. The Duke of York was on campaign in Pontoise at this time, as recorded in the Rouen cathedral records where prayers were offered for his safety while on campaign.

Edward was born April 28th, 1442- and while there's no reason to say he couldn't have been prematurely born (though that would seem to have been something they would have noted because of risks to true claims to the throne) the 9 months back from that puts Edward being conceived when his “father” was not there at all. Edward's christening was a hushed up affair, and Edward looked nothing like his supposed father, and his own mother swore in a legal deposition Edward was a bastard. Following the War of the Roses, the only claimant left was Henry the VII who married Edward the IVth’s daughter Elizabeth of York.

The entire descent from this thin claim to the throne, including Henry the VIII is posited to be illegitimate, all the way to the Windsors, and the current queen. Of course Edward IV could have still claimed the throne by right of conquest. If all of the above were proven then the line of monarchy should have extended the Plantagenets. Henry VIII made sure the only surviving Plantagenet, Margaret Duchess of Salisbury was executed (Edward Earl of Warwick died locked away in the Tower previously) and so the line died out, as far at the throne from there on.

The actor who played baldrich on Black Adder did an intriguing BBC documentary of interest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eF2YaQgJwH8

This is all well and good....but who the heck cares in the USA, where we long ago renounced ANY king of England. And certainly not king obamaumao of the US

And those people are silly, and why the religion posts are a place I never go.

“Why pester me, or any American with your proMonarchy whining?”

Lol! I don’t even know what to begin to make of that.
