Investigators say the two men went into a cottage in the 4400 block of Land O'Lakes Boulevard in an attempted home invasion/robbery.
One of the visitors inside was armed, deputies say, and opened fire, hitting both men. They ran away and collapsed on the sidewalk.

Stupid as well, you get the same amount of time using a fake gun in a robbery as you do with a real gun.

It must have been terribly awkward for both of them to be carrying it. Did they take turns carrying it? Or was it a very large fake gun? Do journalists get any training in how to express themselves in writing?

Shame shame
Robbing homes is turning out to be a risky business. In my neighborhood, we have a lot retired military and law enforcement officers as well as a few active duty military. From what I know of my neighbors, I would say 100% of them has at least one if not several firearms. Maybe that word has leakied out, because despite being a modestly well to do neighborhood, nobody around here has experienced an attempted robbery in the 8 years I have lived here. By the way, we live in South Alabama where we have a “Stand Your Ground Law”. Guess that makes us an “Aparteid State”.
Depends in which part of Land O’Lakes they inhabited. LOL runs the gamut from rural farmland to suburban cookie-cutter housing complexes. This likely happened in a middle-class suburban neighborhood. A LOT of these areas are rife with pot growers.

I apologize if I made any inference to the contrary, but I agree.
I was illustrating the point that this appeared to be drug-related, as I live in the metro area where this happened. The hair stands up on the back of my neck when I read or hear stories like these from my home market. It settles my stomach a bit to hear that it was drug related, because that means I’m just a bit safer because I’m not part of that culture.
I agree that this was a clean shoot. I was justifying the event as drug-related to calm my own fears.
Cue the "sad trombone" sound effect of failure.
So: The way I am getting it now is that these two idiots figured on making a home invasion of a drug dealers home with a fake gun.
Youth is no excuse for anyone being that stupid.
Hope it wasn’t a White black guy killing one of Obama/Holder’s kids.
