Officials at Travelers Insurance confirmed that 90 people will be laid off from their positions with the company in Connecticut.
"Our personal insurance business is serving a changing marketplace, and prudently managing expenses is more critical than ever to remain competitive," said the company in a statement Tuesday. "We are dedicated to being a market leader."
There still be 7,800 employees in Connecticut after the staff reductions, company officials said. Officials added that Travelers is still one of the largest employers in the state.
Isn’t Travelers Insurance also known as “Fellow Travelers” insurance because they support left wing causes? Is so, then they deserve what they get.
I know Progressive supports the left, never heard about Travelers.
I retired from Travelers and never heard that term. Their support for charities runs the gamut. They are very conservative in their investment practices and never invested in mortgage backed securites. They were unhurt by the housing bubble.

My wife works for them and you are correct. The Uppers(CEOs)are all lefty psychos.
My Travelers homeowners insurance went up 50% this summer. Is that how they are prudently managing their costs? BTW, I dropped them. Maybe that is why they are having layoffs. They are driving away customers.

Not true. I have an immediate family member that is president of a division there. I assure you that not “all” are lefty psychos.
