John McKinney, the Republican leader of the state Senate, announced Tuesday he is running for governor in 2014, saying he hopes to restore fiscal prosperity to Connecticut.
The eight-term Fairfield lawmaker announced his candidacy in a news release emailed to reporters. The statement said McKinney has filed the necessary paperwork to start a candidate committee and begin collecting contributions to qualify for the states public campaign financing program.

According to the article, McKinney is a gun grabbing Republican. RINO alert!
CT has a handful of good guys still. Joe Markley (Southington) is one. Len Suzio was one until he was targeted. Having Meriden and Middletown in his district was a bit much. His loss was within the margin of theft.
IOW trade a rat commie for a rat wannabe commie.
A spineless one at that - instead of gathering the Repubs to make a stand together, he sided with the Demoncrats and gave them "bi-partisan cover".
God bless the rock-solid Repubs like Markely and Noujaim.
