crazy Kalipornia passed a law that says boys can use girls bathrooms and showers and the same law said parents cannot sue the school district if their kid gets molested.

This sort of action has been in process for decades and there is no effective defense. A claim, a lawyer and perceived deep pockets. BSA has extra strong youth protection programs to eliminate the possibility of this sort of costly law suit.
Your ignorance is primarily shown by the fact that those charged are leaders, not scouts. The revised queer membership rules apply to boys not adults.
