AUSTIN, TX, July 24, 2013 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Planned Parenthood must reimburse the State of Texas Medicaid program $1.4 million in erroneous and fraudulent billing, under the terms of a settlement announced today. That includes funds that, according to the whistleblower who exposed the chapter, were used to finance abortion-related services.

A thorough investigation found that Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast (PPGC) “improperly billed the Texas Medicaid program for products and services that were never actually rendered, not medically necessary, and were not covered by the Medicaid program – and were therefore not eligible for reimbursement,” Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott announced today.

“For example, state investigators determined that Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast falsified material information in patients’ medical records in order to support fraudulent reimbursement claims to the Medicaid program,” he said.

Why aren’t there criminal prosecutions of those PP employees involved?

Abortionists should NOT have access to Medicaid nor Medicaid. Just because it’s legal does not mean my earned money should contribute without consent

Not a penny

Never mind this fraud waste and abuse

You have some good reasons to love living in Texas (besides the strong/recent prolife laws.

No State Income Tax

A healthy Oil and Gas Industry to boost employment in the state.

I think there are also areas in Dallas where you cannot buy hard liquor (Bible belt influence).

To name a few...

So, they got millions in federal money, and also squeezed money outta Medicaid, and charged women getting abortions who did not qualify for Medicaid, and then screamed loudly when Komen began to back out so they would not lose corporate sponsorship?

Sounds like a "for-profit" organization to me.

The real solution to this problem is to eliminate Medicaid. May be these welfare whores will get off their fat asses and get a job and will be too busy to fornicate and need abortions.

If a physician was guilty of those charges he would lose his/her license immediately. Why not Planned Parenthood?

Abbott is kicking ass with both feet!

Maybe the stars are lining up for the new Lone Star Texas Republic. Sometimes that sweetheart marriage made in heaven just doesn’t stand the test of time, especially when one of em is pissin away the money like Jimmy Buffett and poking every poodle they see.

The worst was Planned Parenthood Golden Gate.

Link to Freerepublic article with links to other stories about this Scandal/Fraud of taxpayers:

Planned Parenthood Golden Gate: IRS investigates and POOF! it disappears!!! [Various links including New York Times]

They were about to be prosecuted (not just fined) for Medicaid fraud in California when something unusual happened. It was also being investigated by the IRS...

Planned Parenthood Golden Gate waved a magic wand, and Poof! It Disappeared!

I continue to try to revive the story. I posted the link in the first part of this response so you might view it before the rest of my comment...

At least this has a better ending than Planned Parenthood Golden Gate. The IRS was after them, there was charges of Medicaid fraud such that the state of California was defrauded.

So what happened: Planned Parenthood waved a magic wand, and Poof! It disappeared
